Community Reviews

This Milwaukee fold-up hand truck is best understood as a compact, light-duty mover for occasional boxes, laundry, and odd-shaped items, with the big appeal being how small it folds for storage. The light weight and small footprint make it handy to keep in a corner, and it has handled loads up to 200 pounds in limited use. The main drawback is durability and stability, with reports of flimsy construction, tiny base, wobble, jamming wheels, and folding parts that can fail or collapse inward. It feels more like a convenience tool than a heavy-duty dolly.

Common Questions (4)

Harbor Freight's folding hand truck is repeatedly suggested as a better value, with better or more robust wheels, and Costco is mentioned as having a similar model for about $25 or a better-built 6-wheel version. Those alternatives are presented as cheaper or sturdier options than this $37.92 unit.

Yes. Multiple comments report wheels that jam, collapse inward, or are hard to open, and some units broke quickly or on the second use. That makes it a poor choice if you need frequent or heavy-duty use.

It is generally described as suitable only for light, occasional use, with a 150 lb capacity and a small base that can make balancing boxes harder. Several comments say it can work in a pinch or for laundry and odd-shaped items, but many would not pay around $38 for it.

No. Milwaukee Hand Trucks is a separate brand name used for material-handling products made by Gleason Industrial Products, not Milwaukee Tools. The brand is described as USA-made and focused on dollies, carts, and hand trucks.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Every other dolly I've had has been better than this one. Wheels were canted in and caused awful wobble.

DONT BUY.

Have had a used one over a year and put items too big and it's done well. Use weekly for laundry or odd shaped items. If you might need this buy it and shove in a corner

I've had this (or very similar) for years and use it only for like deliveries to the UPS store once in a great while.
I can NOT recommend it due to the fact the "cabinet type opening" wheels do not lock out in place and collapse inwards at random.

This one has wheels that work like a magnacart. They are hard to open and sometimes collapse inward randomly. I get mine open (wheels out) and never flatten it due to how hard it is to open the wheels. It's not worth $38

If you're willing to spend a little more, there are similar models with higher load ratings.

For example, here's one with a 340 lb capacity that gets high ratings and is only about $11 more.

These are absolute hot garbage. I bought 2 in a pinch and both failed immediately. Not even anything heavy, just kept jamming up.

Save yourself the trouble and get the one from Harbor Freight. I have 2 now and they have handled everything I've thrown at them. Plus, they're cheaper.

Milwaukee Hand Trucks is not the same company as Milwaukee Tools.
https://www.milwaukeehandtrucks.com/
They've been making hand trucks for years and are typically pretty decent quality, but this particular one appears to have traded robustness for light weight and foldability.

Thanks! Good to know. I bought the TF500 model (rated for 500lbs) from Home Depot last week for $69 thinking it was Milwaukee Tools. Oh well, I'm actually kinda happy with it and so far seems robust.

This is garbage quality from a garbage company that is trying to trick people (such as myself) into thinking that they were buying a product from the Milwaukee tool company. When mine broke, I called Milwaukee tools and they told me the deal. I told them I hope they sued the other company for falsely presenting their products.

I own one, do yourself a favor and pass on this. It is utter garbage. Mine broke on the second use.

Just a reminder for anyone unaware, this brand of hand trucks and other equipment has nothing to do with Milwaukee Tools.

Milwaukee Hand Trucks [milwaukeehandtrucks.com]: This brand is the trade name for products manufactured by Gleason Industrial Products. They specialize purely in material handling equipment like dollies, carts, and hand trucks, and they are proudly manufactured in the USA.

I have the regular (non-folding) Milwaukee hand truck that converts to a pseudo-flatbed dolly, and it's built like a tank. Highly recommend that one which has proven indispensable on many occasions when moving heavy things in and out of the house.

This is NOT made by Milwaukee Tools. Also be aware that 16 percent of reviews are only one star.

I LOVE mine. I use it all the time. About to use it to move this weekend as well. The max I've had on it was 200lbs of sandbags and it did okay.
