This is my favorite camera brand. Video is stored on the memory card and accessible over LAN. The animal detection is pretty good so I'm able to keep track of the wildlife that visits my yard.

Not bad, didn't realize this camera existed, but if you're targeting night performance would recommend going to the higher end CX-820 vs the RLC-833A because that one has a 1/1.8" sensor at F=1.0 vs 1/2.8" @ F=1.6 which drastically improves night vision as long as you don't need the IR spotlight though. I just replaced a really old RLC-822A (about 5 years old) that I dropped really hard with the 820 to monitor my garage without having lights turned on and it works quite well.

FYI for new ppl like me.

ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open global standard that allows IP-based security cameras, recorders (NVRs/DVRs), and management software from different manufacturers to communicate with one another. Functioning much like Bluetooth, it enables you to mix and match hardware brands without being locked into a proprietary ecosystem.
