Just buy 100% cotton shirts.
Wouldn't cotton be just as hot?

Why the sudden rise of UV blocking shirts? I'm not Joe outdoors, but I can't recall ever getting tanned through a shirt, let alone sunburned.
I love these for travel where a)I'll be outdoors a lot and b)washing my clothes in a sink ex. a cruise. They dry quickly pick very light. Most of my shirts now have some sort of UPF as I find them much more comfortable to wear out and about

in for 1 in normal size, hope it works out - if too big usually washing fixes it anyways
It's 100% synthetic, will it shrink at all? I thought just cotton and wool shrink

I live in a humid environment, not arid. Tight knit cotton is 100% worse in the afternoons when I use it for outdoor activities & hiking. It absorbs sweat AND humidity without drying as quickly as poly or poly blends (which I'ma big fan of otherwise). You ever heard the term "Cotton kills"?
Cotton is literally the worst thing for sports. Heats up like crazy

Cotton vs Polyester for Summer Comfort

For most everyday summer wear, cotton is generally cooler and more comfortable than polyester because it's more breathable and allows better airflow, but polyester can be better for active, sweaty situations due to its moisture-wicking properties.

Why Cotton Feels Cooler in Summer

Cotton is a natural fiber that is highly breathable and allows air to circulate freely around the body, helping to regulate temperature It also absorbs sweat, keeping skin drier for longer, and is lightweight, which reduces heat retention. This makes cotton ideal for casual, non-active summer clothing like shirts, dresses, and shorts.

Why Polyester Can Feel Cooler in Certain Situations

Polyester is a synthetic fiber that wicks moisture away from the skin quickly, helping you stay drier during physical activity. In hot, humid conditions or when you're sweating heavily, this can make polyester feel cooler because it prevents sweat buildup and chafing . It's often used in workout wear, sportswear, and activewear for this reason.

I'm usually stuck between a Large and XL in t-shirts. I've learned which brands to buy over the years (Cotton Bureau: XL. Old Navy: Large. Hanes: Don't.) I got two G Gradual shirts from this deal last week and bought in Large. They are perfect for me. I had been looking for years to replace some Old Navy 4-way stretch shirts and these are the closest I've come to finding a perfect replacement. The fabric is slightly thicker than many other athletic shirts, which I prefer for daily wear. I'm not wearing these as workout clothes, but as daily wear. The sleeves are longer than most workout shirts, too. They sit an inch or two above the elbow whereas most athletic shirts seem to sit much higher, giving the world a much better view of my nerd arms.
