I have no experience with the gen 2's but I have the gen 1's and ive read multiple reports that there really isn't much of a difference between the two. I absolutely love the gen 1's. Of course, they dont mingle as well as the APP's do in the apple ecosystem but I have mine connected to my phone and my Mac and they will switch well enough. Sound is great. ANC is great. APP 3's may be a slightly bit better but I couldn't keep them in my ears even with foam tips. The Bose stay in my ears no matter what im doing.

Apple airpods, even the pro ones are consistently rated pretty low - 6s or 7s/10 - max of 8/10 in terms of sound quality compared to others in that price range. The biggest pro is their mic and an easily recognizable apple product, which has been eroded from the flood of chinesium airpod lookalikes. The ease of replication of a similar product just further shows how easily they can be reproduced, and airpod teardowns on youtube price these products as low as $30 - yet they're sold for much more.

The QC ultra earbuds gen 2 are pretty good and they consistently get rated 8s or 9s out of 10 from most reviewers. I dislike how bulky they are, but they are well-made with excellent sound quality.

The ultra opens are clip-on earbuds, they're freebies as its a niche product that is in low-demand.

It's a no-brainer choice that the BOSE ones are better if you're looking for sound and build quality
