This TCL 52 inch ceiling fan stands out for strong airflow, quiet DC motor operation, and a remote that doubles as a convenient second switch from bed or across the room. Installation is described as easy overall, and the 2 year fan warranty plus 10 year motor warranty add some reassurance. The main concern is the LED light, which can glow faintly when off or behave unreliably in some setups, and the fan may be too powerful for a bedroom on high. The coupon is required to reach the advertised price.
Common Questions (5)
It can. Several reports describe a faint glow or bleed from the LED when the light is switched off, especially with certain wall switches or wiring setups; others report no glow at all. If it happens, testing with a regular switch can help determine whether the issue is switch leakage or wiring-related.
It is not compatible with dimmer setups, and the remote is required for normal control because it uses a DC motor. A standard on/off wall switch can work, but the remote acts as the main control and may need special programming if multiple fans are nearby.
The advertised $70 price requires applying the checkout coupon. Without it, some carts showed higher totals such as $149.99 or $159.99, but using the coupon dropped the price to $70 for the deal price.
Yes. Owners describe it as very strong, with the highest speed feeling "nervously fast" or "crazy fast," while lower speeds are quiet and suitable for living spaces. The DC motor and blade pitch are cited as reasons it can move air efficiently.
It is generally reported as easy to install, even for non-experts, though some units may have blade screws torqued very tightly and require extra effort or drilling out. The fan also comes with a 2-year fan warranty and a 10-year motor warranty.

Most fans will eventually have DC motors because they are more efficient than AC ones, at least that seems to be the trend. I suspect with the next Democrat administration in the White House, the EPA will pass regulations to that effect, which Pres Biden tried or proposed a few years ago. They do have some advantages because they are whisper quiet and can get REALLY powerful, but the biggest problem is that the cheap ones have issues with being able to go slow and provide a gentle breeze. Ours is pretty strong on the lowest setting which is ok for the TV room where it is but would be way too powerful for a bedroom. More expensive ones don't have that problem, but they can be quite expensive -- $200+.
