I hear you, but try actual good quality sunglasses. I'm so over these cheap styles after running through about a dozen pairs over the years.
They all break in some way or another or have some massive flaw about them.
All these extreme budget brands cut massive corners in one way or another and it manifests in a variety of different ways.
I'm aware of the glasses mafia that exists and how they engage in obscene price gouging, but certain mainstream name brands just have such better quality about them…whether that be in thoughtful design or more robust components.
They all break in some way or another or have some massive flaw about them.

Is this better than my $400 Raybans (that I got for ~$100) - highly doubtful. But I would use glasses like these where things can get dropped/hit/stepped on/lost/etc. Because at $12 - meh. They're good enough.

I mean it's all a trap, and a personal preference. Luxotica and all their brands probably own 3/4 of the higher than $40 a pair market. So if you're buying "fancy" chances are you're buying Luxotica.
