Heat distribution is quite good. There is a heavy gauge steel flame deflector under the large drip tray that definitely improves heat distribution.
There is a smoker box that you can put wood chunks in for some additional smoke generator. Sometimes it's hit or miss on self igniting the wood chunks and I've had to use a torch to get them going.
The regular price used to be $499. I bought it a year ago from tomorrow for $429 though. Obviously things have changed since then though.
The only thing I don't really like is the lack of WiFi and Bluetooth to monitor/adjust smoker temp.

Member's Mark's 36 inch pellet smoker stands out for sturdy build quality, strong heat retention, and flexible fuel options. The double wall body, lid gasket, and heavy gauge flame deflector help keep temperatures even and reduce pellet use, while the smoker box lets it burn real wood chunks for extra smoke. The induction side burner and smoke tray add useful versatility. The main knocks are the lack of WiFi or Bluetooth, a small upper rack, and reports that the induction burner can fail. A solid value if you want more than a basic pellet cooker.
Common Questions (5)
It uses a double-walled body, a heavy-gauge steel flame deflector, and a lid gasket to improve heat retention and even out temperatures. Those features also help reduce pellet use and make it more consistent across the cook chamber.
Yes. It has a smoker box for wood chunks, and it can also take charcoal. That gives it more smoke flavor options than pellet-only grills and lets you add real wood smoke for longer cooks.
No. It does not include WiFi or Bluetooth for monitoring or adjusting temperature, so control is handled locally on the smoker.
It has been bought for around $429 on sale, but owners still describe it as built like a tank and worth $550 for the build quality and features. The main caveat is that pellet grills can require maintenance and some buyers worry about long-term reliability.
The smoke tray is a useful Camp Chef-style feature, and the induction side burner adds extra cooking flexibility. The downside is that the burner and the tech features have been reported as weak points, with one unit's induction burner failing.
