Heat distribution is quite good. There is a heavy gauge steel flame deflector under the large drip tray that definitely improves heat distribution.
There is a smoker box that you can put wood chunks in for some additional smoke generator. Sometimes it's hit or miss on self igniting the wood chunks and I've had to use a torch to get them going.
The regular price used to be $499. I bought it a year ago from tomorrow for $429 though. Obviously things have changed since then though.
The only thing I don't really like is the lack of WiFi and Bluetooth to monitor/adjust smoker temp.

Member's Mark's 36 inch pellet smoker stands out for sturdy build quality, strong heat retention, and flexible fuel options. The double wall body, lid gasket, and heavy gauge flame deflector help keep temperatures even and reduce pellet use, while the smoker box lets it burn real wood chunks for extra smoke. The induction side burner and smoke tray add useful versatility. The main knocks are the lack of WiFi or Bluetooth, a small upper rack, and reports that the induction burner can fail. A solid value if you want more than a basic pellet cooker.
The double-walled design and lid gasket help maintain more consistent temperature during pellet cooking.
The wood smoke box adds extra smoke when using real wood chunks for longer cooks.
The unit can use real wood chunks and even charcoal, which expands cooking flexibility beyond pellets.
The smoker's heavy-gauge steel flame deflector improves heat distribution across the cooking area.
Connectivity and tech features are limited, since the smoker lacks WiFi and Bluetooth temperature monitoring.
Self-ignition for wood chunks can be hit-or-miss, requiring a torch to get them going.
The induction side burner has reportedly failed on at least one unit, creating an early reliability concern.
The upper rack area can be too small for water-pan cooks, which can limit moisture and heat deflection setups.
