The "swing speed" mechanic is awful and bears no resemblance to an actual golf swing's mechanics. The only workaround is to drop the difficulty settings to the point where the game is just too easy.

Have to disagree with the first comments. I was terrible at this game when first starting. I only play at pro level and swing stick. Went with the technician golfer type, which seems to give best balance of skills. After several hours/days of play over 2 to 3 months, it's a blast. The ranked multiplayer 4some matches are fun and there's cross-platform so never difficult to find others to play with. I play on xbox with an essential membership, which is enough for me.
