Pretty much the same. Received as a gift (thanks Mom!) last Xmas and use it several times a week every week since. My wife and I pretty much rotate between ice cream, sorbet and then on non-ice cream days, popcorn in the whirleypop. Love the Creami. Got my recipes locked in.

Ha, pretty much sounds like the same model jet engine! But seriously, it's loud but does it's thing in 2-4 minutes.

You have to put it on a flat surface, period. Also to minimize the notorious hump, you can freeze it for the first few hours without the lid on. Even if there is a hump, as long as it is centered, the machine will process without issue. If the top is uneven you don't have to thaw out. You just take a heated spoon/ladle via hot water or stove and press it against the top of the ice cream to melt just the part that is raised. Then just run it like normal while licking the back of the spoon as your preview.

For folks wondering, yes now Ninja has some good competition in the "ice cream maker" sector. There are trade offs with most of the competitors. Yes with this, you do have to prep the ice cream (etc) mixture and freeze for 24 hours before popping it into the machine to get ice cream. Still, this is like meal prepping and I always have a couple of pints ready to go in the fridge.

For other machines that have a compressor which freezes the ice cream while it makes it, you don't have to do the pre freeze process but you still have to make the ice cream concoction and then you'll have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes before you get your ice cream and reviews all of the internet will tell you that if you don't time it right, the texture of the ice cream will change and not for the better and while those machines aren't as loud as the Creami, they still are pretty noticeable so you'll enjoy that noise for an extended time. Additionally, you have to hope that the compressor never goes bad or you SOL. For the Creami people have said the major weak point is the "blade" which connects to the spindle via magnet and that can get de-magnetized. Especially with improper use. There is a fix for it but still a known issue.

With the Creami, if you want ice cream and you've prepped your pints, on any given night It's about 5-6 minutes from Jonesing for something sweet and having ice cream in your mouth.

I've used my Ninja Creami nearly every single day since I purchased it a year ago. Low fat, low sugar, low calorie, high protein ice cream has genuinely CHANGED MY LIFE.

Is this a blender or ice cream maker? Youtube video shows you have to freeze the cream for 24 hrs.

As noisy as a blender running on max setting.
