The Ninja Creami Deluxe is a strong fit for high protein, low sugar, and lower calorie ice cream, sorbet, and protein shake desserts, with plenty of room for flavor tweaks and mix ins. It can turn out very good results fast once the pint is frozen, and the refurb units often arrive looking nearly new in original packaging. The big tradeoffs are noise, which is closer to a blender at full blast, and the need for careful prep and a flat freeze. A few reports also flag blade, paddle, leak, and durability issues, so the refurb savings matter most if you are comfortable with some risk.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. It is commonly used for low-sugar, high-protein, and lower-calorie ice cream, including protein-shake-based recipes, with some pints coming in around 190-350 calories depending on ingredients.

  • It is very loud, roughly like a blender on max or louder, and can hit an especially noticeable pitch during parts of the spin cycle. It still finishes the job quickly, usually in about 2-4 minutes.

  • Yes. The pint needs to freeze on a flat surface, and uneven freezing can cause the top to form a hump or make the machine struggle; some users freeze it uncovered for the first few hours or level the top before spinning.

  • Buying 5-10 extra pints makes it easier to batch-prep and keep multiple flavors ready in the freezer. Frozen pints can still taste fresh months later, which makes the machine more convenient for quick servings.

  • It often arrives looking basically brand new, sometimes even in original packaging. Several buyers said their refurb units had no visible issues and felt like a strong value for the price.

We bought this at Wally World on clearance and sometimes it's great. Other times, we get a giant cup of sugar snow.

I have watched videos and looked at the reddits. We get really good ice cream now about 90% of the time. We still get the occasional pile of snow that we have microwave down a little.

I purchased a refurb and it stopped working in 10 uses. Woot and ninja both said oh well.
10 uses over how many months (or years)?

I won't buy it because I don't want all the extra work and then wait 24 hours to blend it into "ice cream". I have a machine that has a compressor. I toss the ingredients in when I want ice cream. It mixes, it freezes, it beeps for me to add mix-ins, and it beeps when it's done. 30 minutes after I want ice cream, I have ice cream. I am not hating on Ninja. I have the Crispi (refurb from Woot) and I love it, use it almost every day Smilie
Which machine are you using? I've considered a few but end up backing out because they all require a lengthy freezing stage or tons of steps that take a lot of the fun out of it.

Greatest machine ever. I purchased one from woot last year, and it died on day 93 (return window is 90days). Purchased from Costco this time, worth the extra $ imo for return policy. 1cup half-n-half. 1cup decaf cold brew coffee. 1 scoop protein powder. 1tbsp collagen. Enjoy!
was the one you bought before refurbished?

Yes refurbished. It was just my experience, I hope others have better luck. I do feel like the brand new one I got from Costco works better (only way to describe it, better sounding, better at making ice cream)... so maybe my refurb one was sick from the start.

A friend of mine has one but it's always kind of gritty, wonder if their recipe is off

Refurbished never works out for me personally.

How used are they? Do they look like brand new but the motor was refurbed, or are there streaks of food in them?
