This Ridgid 5 outlet extension cord hub is best as a compact, protected power splitter for extension cords, holiday lights, inflatables, and other light loads. It has its own circuit breaker, a power LED, and outlet spacing that helps bulky transformer plugs fit without blocking neighboring sockets. The hub also feels handy for switching between tools one at a time. The main limits are that it is not ideal for power hungry devices, and it lacks wall mounting provisions. A practical pick when you want extra outlets at the cord end.
The hub can be useful for holiday decorations and lights when running low-draw loads.
The hub includes its own circuit breaker, which can help during power outages.
The outlet spacing can accommodate transformer power blocks without blocking access to other outlets.
The power LED indicator makes it easier to see when the hub is powered.
The hub lacks wall-mounting accommodations, which limits permanent placement options.
The hub may not be suitable for power tools or other power-hungry devices.
Local store inventory can be misleading, since employees may not be able to locate the items even when the website shows stock.
The hub may be less convenient than an HDX hub when plugging into a receptacle due to design differences.

From: Compact, Durable build, built-in protection, and I like it better than my ridgid.
"The Ridgid is great when using it on the end of an extension cord, but because of the rubber tabs, it's not great for adding outlets to a receptacle. The HDX may be even better for an extension cord because it has a hook to hold the cord in place. If you were to tug on it, you wouldn't unplug it by accident. It can also easily be plugged into a receptacle. The HDX has the overload protection reset button on the top of the outlets. The Ridgid has the button on the bottom, ground side of the outlets. When in the upright position, I like that the HDX outlet covers open from the top. They seem to stay in the 5 outlets better. This only matters when plugging it into an outlet. When you plug it into an extension cord, you can just flip the Ridgid over. The last thing I would like to point out is that the HDX is cheaper and has a more compact size. It takes up less room in the tool bag."
