Yes, especially if they also need a machine to do schoolwork or creative tasks.
You can get a better Roblox machine than this for a little less but it won't have this machine's well rounded features with nice screen, great battery life, good design, etc. Frankly it's a good value for most anything, but the Intel 258V does have strong integrated graphics for low end gaming.

I bought this two days ago for my teen. It was marked "fair" condition, so was $776. I ordered it online, but examined it before I left the store after pickup. There were no noticeable scratches, dents, or other flaws.

I set it up that night and all seems fine - screen is beautiful, no scratches or dead pixels. I don't know why it was marked "fair," but my guess is that's policy for floor demo models? This was apparently a demo model rather than return, evidenced by the fact that the dummy Best Buy Windows account was still logged in when I turned the machine on at home (BB should have wiped the computer!).

It took me a minute to figure out how to reset a fresh Windows install. When I tried to do so, Windows said I needed to enter an admin password, which obviously I didn't have for Best Buy's demo account. But I quickly found a Reddit thread that explained how to solve this problem. It worked perfectly, and within a few minutes I had a fresh install.

One other thing to note: Lenovo showed the warranty to be expired. However, through Googling I learned that you can have Lenovo update your warranty date to date or purchase if you fill out an online form and provide a copy of your receipt. I did so, and in less than 24 hours I had response from Lenovo that my warranty start date had been updated. When I log into Lenovo now, I see the computer has one year left on its warranty. That was surprisingly easy!

I think this is a great laptop for the price. The 32GB of RAM is huge in today's environment, where even a lot of 2026 premium laptops are coming with 16GB.

If I had one complaint about the laptop, I'd note that the back shell is very thin metal, and I hear creaking when I pick the laptop up with one hand - sounding like the back panel is flexing or creaking against screws. I may unscrew the back panel, reseat it, and screw it down tightly, and see if that resolves the creaking. But that's not a big deal.

Roblox and several other games! my kid loves this laptop, he runs everything that he would like and this laptop just keeps running! also worth to mention, the speakers are great for a Windows laptop. Only issue we had was a motherboard failure but Lenovo Customer Service was awesome, they mailed me a box NDA, then they repaired the laptop next day and completed it at 4.00 PM, shipped the laptop the same afternoon and it was delivered at my door at 9:00 AM. In comparison I had an issue with Asus and had to wait 2 weeks to get it back.

That was my experience as well with Lenovo Customer Service, they had to update my warranty as we purchased an open box and when we had an issue that required to replace the motherboard, they did this process super fast! Kudos for Lenovo.
