$1 per tender is a better value than $1 per wing

First time trying these. Looks like boneless wings. $5 is too much for small pieces of chicken. Who would pay $12?

Just got these from KFC because of this deal. The tenders are indeed very small and I would say they were extremely underwhelming as far as taste goes. Mine were dry and a bit tough. Probably because they were sitting there a while. KFC just ain't it these days.

KFC's $5 Big Dunk Deal is a low-cost way to get five tenders with sauce, and the strongest appeal is simple price value versus ordering them separately. The deal also stands out for the sauce options, including two new sauces in some locations. The main drawback is portion size, since the tenders are repeatedly described as tiny, more like nuggets or boneless wing flats, and the taste can be dry, tough, or flavorless. That makes it a budget pickup only if the small size does not bother you.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. Multiple reports describe the tenders as tiny, with some saying they are only slightly larger than a boneless wing flat or even more like nuggets than tenders. The portion size is the main complaint, especially compared with the regular price.

  • It can be a decent discount versus ordering tenders à la carte, since five tenders plus sauce can run close to $12 in some areas. The tradeoff is that the tenders are reported to be very small, dry, or flavorless, so the value depends on whether you care more about price or portion quality.

  • Yes, the deal appears to require using KFC's app and creating an Awards account. That extra step is a practical barrier for some shoppers and is specifically mentioned as a reason they would skip the offer.

  • The deal includes sauce, and one comment notes it can be used to try two new sauces. In one area, ordering the tenders à la carte would only include one free sauce per tender, so the deal can be better if you want extra sauce options.

I don't know if they are any better or worse than Popeyes tenders, but seems like a good deal.
Popeyes to have the smallest tenders ever
..I went to mine and thought it was a bad batch...went to another one and they were just as small...

Stopped at my local KFC last month for a tender meal and was shocked and disappointed with the portion size considering the regular price I paid. It also tasted much like Tyson chicken strips. Now, I get Just Bare strips when they go on sale. A 3 pound bag might cost $12 or $13 when on sale at Sam's Club. My wallet is much happier, and doubt I would go back to KFC even with this SD, especially due to the requirement of needing the app. If I had to go out for tenders in the future I might go to either Culver's or Publix. Either are a major step up from KFC in quality.

KFC tenders used to be good in the 90s-2000s, but at some point, they changed things up for the worse and now a lot of their classics just don't taste good anymore.

Most don't have these yet. They are just testing them out in select Costcos.

I can make a joke about the grease but anywhere offering a half decent meal under $10 has my attention, everything is too expensive nowadays. Not a KFC fan but I guess I'll download the app for this deal so their marketing is working (a bit anyway)
