It hit $279 and $289 sporadically during the last holiday season, so pretty much for new yeah around $300.
However, VIP OUTLET has been selling these open box on Walmart the past couple weeks (Look here on SD, you'll see the posted). I bought 2x silver 128GB 11th Gen iPads for $215 each open box. Both arrived in like-new condition with no blemishes and each with only a single battery cycle showing initial power up dates in December (assuming these are Christmas returns). One iPad came in the original box and the other came securely packed in a brown box, but both included the original USB-C cable and 20W chargers. $215 is a crazy value for these iPads for what you're getting! We gave one to our nephew and setting the other up for our niece right now.
Only [potential] downside buying one of these is that I could not add AppleCare to either... But my nephew didn't break his 9th Gen over the last three years it was inside one of those big foamy protective cases, so just gonna go that route again this time. Both iPads do still show they're covered under the Apple limited Warranty until December 2026 still though.

Can confirm my $215.00 open box purchase arrived practically brand new replacing my ancient iPad Air 2. Glad I settled for the base instead of the air for basic media consumption.

For what it is capable of, and thankfully now that the base model comes with 128GB of storage, $215 is a stupidly good value!

wow, that's what I need to get. I don't care about open box. It's for my 86 year old mom. She uses ipads for YEARS and YEARS and it still works ok just little slow.

That;'s the way right there, as long as you're not dead set on them being eligible to add AppleCare, you can save a bunch of money. I bought 2x figuring I'd keep the one in the nicest shape, but they both arrived flawless (except one was missing its original box, no big deal to me). I couldn't send the other one back it was such a good deal and I had another good use for it lol.
