Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is a fast 12.7 inch Android tablet that stands out for its sharp 3K display, strong speakers, pen support, and expandable storage. It feels snappy for browsing, streaming, comics, reading, and lighter gaming, and the included Lenovo Tab Pen Plus is repeatedly confirmed in the box. The main drawbacks are its size and weight, plus the tablet can arrive with extra bloatware to remove. Android updates also top out at Android 16, with security support through January 2029, making it a capable big screen pick with some long term limits.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, the pen is included with this model. The product page and cart show "LENOVO TAB PEN PLUS INCLUDED," and multiple buyers report receiving the pen in the box.

  • Yes, the 12.7-inch 3K display is repeatedly described as excellent for comics and reading, with a dedicated Immersive Reading Mode for e-books and PDFs. The larger screen makes CBR/CBZ files easier to read than smaller tablets, though the tablet is a bit heavy for long handheld sessions.

  • It can be used for screen sharing and may work as a second monitor with software, but wireless screen sharing is reported to be slow for work. If you want a dedicated external-monitor setup, the experience may be less enjoyable than on devices with built-in second-monitor support.

  • It handles casual and mid-range games like Roblox and COD Mobile smoothly, and heavier titles such as Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves can run if graphics settings are lowered. The MT8300 is also capable of emulation, with videos showing PS3 emulation, though it can warm up during long sessions.

  • It tops out at Android 16 and is reported to receive security updates through January 2029. That makes the software support limited compared with newer tablets, but the device is still covered for several more years.

How can you be sure? It's not listed under "What's in the Box" where they even went through the trouble of listing the Quick-start Guide and Warranty sheet as well as the MicroSD Tray Pin but doesn't bother listing the Pen.
I bought this exact model from Lenovo. The pen was definitely included.

I've been thinking about this tablet for a while (it's been this price for a week now). The limited Android updates supported and the size are what is stopping me from pulling the trigger. Does anybody have any opinions or own this thing? I'm looking to upgrade from a Fire 10 HD Plus, which sux, but it still works. I had so many issues with my last iPad and its updates that I am shying away from Apple.
I bought this a few months ago for $249 (pen included) & it's well worth the price. Very fast, lots of options including facial recognition & fingerprint 🫆 reader. My son plays Minecraft, Roblox & many other games on it without any problems or lags. Excellent for watching YouTube also. My only con (barely) is that it's almost too big at 12.7". I would still buy it again at this price though ($238).

I spent the first 90 minutes deleting or disabling different apps.

I don't have the list of deleted apps. But anything that I don't need such as Netflix and ticktock I deleted. There were not too many.

I disabled... Because you can not delete...
1. Google TV
2. Kids Space
3. PAI
4. Personal Safety
5. Smart Connect

And I deleted about half a dozen apps, maybe less.

Apps like Google TV and Kids Space frequently run background processes to fetch content recommendations. Disabling them immediately stops this background battery and RAM drain. Turning off background utility services like Personal Safety, PAI, and Smart Connect stops active sensor monitoring, which can noticeably extend your device's battery life per charge. Not to mention that people claim these apps are spying on you. PAI is the scary app, it is like Samsung's Appcloud... not only does it spy on you it also installs apps that it thinks you may want in the back ground... Talk about bigbrother watching over you.

The next thing I did was update the tablet... I think it took three updates.

OK... Again... So... the first thing I did was turn on the tablet and I did not connect to the WIFI and I deleted what I did not need and I disabled what I did not need (IMHO, spyware). I then updated the tablet and I think PAI was then installed during one of these three updates, so check your apps one more time after you update the tablet completely.

I suggest not downloading apps based on your phone and account. I suggest downloading them yourself, one app at a time from playstore. The only apps I recommend is "KillApps" and "firefox with Ublock Origin as a addon". And now you have a pretty clean tablet.

To get the most of your tablet I would try and use it like a Chromebook that is only download apps that you truly need and use web pages to do most of your stuff. Apps like Domino's Pizza you don't need. I have no problems buying everything through web pages, I do not even have the Amazon app installed.

My biggest two concerns 1. is the size of the hard drive. At 128 GB of hard drive space it is barely enough and 2. Keeping the tablet crack free so I do buy glass screen protectors usually from AliExpress and I buy a drop proof case.
Even though I am quoting myself, I just want to make sure that you read this post because this post has info on how to increase your battery life, life of tablet, make your tablet run faster, eliminate some background apps, eliminate spyware, eliminate bloatware.....

I disabled... Because you can not delete...
1. Google TV
2. Kids Space
3. PAI
4. Personal Safety
5. Smart Connect

I'm finally convinced this is the best current choice for me, so I got one & thank OP.

Only don't know if anyone noticed or not, that Memorial Day sale that ends this Sunday, includes a $100 off a $500 purchase. So if you buy 2 tablets and an accessory (Charger cable), would you be eligible for this, which significantly decreases the price of one tablet, once the other one is sold new on eBay?! (Or maybe there is a fine print that I didn't see in fast look, excluding the Sale/Clearance items from this (Like their code for an extra %5 discount).

I believe it will be stuck on Android 16 for the rest of your life. It is suppose to get security updates until January 2029... but at this price and specs, who cares?

Usually, the $100 would not work on this deal. I could be wrong though...

I tried to use their "special" 5% off code for joining their subscriptions and of course the coupon did not work on this deal.

I never even tried to enter the coupon for $100, did you?

Thought about it, but didn't have time to play with the idea.
Would be sweet if it were, but pretty low likely!

They usually have a x days satisfaction warranty or at least they used to.

Received mine a couple days ago. In comparison to my Yoga Tab Plus, the Idea Tab Pro is significantly lighter, like it feels almost half the weight. Nearly identical size and button layout, sound quality from the built in speakers are nearly identical and both displays seem about equally as sharp. But the Yoga Tab Plus gets much much brighter. The Idea Tab Pro is bright enough but I could see how outdoors in bright sunlight you could have an issue. And the keyboard from my Yoga Tab Plus does NOT fit the Idea Tab Pro, the 3 pins on bottom have a different spacing and the magnets in the the tablet are in different locations. Oh well, I hoped it would be interchangeable. Oh, it also started automatically downloading a bunch of games and other crap as soon as I finished the setup even though I did as little as possible in the setup process, so be sure to go back and delete the bloat. Otherwise the Idea Tab Pro is excellent.
