all of these Chinese nugget ice makers have about a 6 moth to a year lifespan then they break. The nugget spinner eventually gets so clogged it won't make ice anymore.

We didn't use distilled water or any kind of special water except we have a water softener which almost eliminates the minerals which cause hard water, lime, scale, build up, etc.
