This countertop nugget ice maker is appealing for its small footprint, quick sonic style ice, and low price, especially in the silver finish tied to the deal. The machine is described as working well when it runs, with enough output for regular use and even parties. The main caution is durability, since similar countertop nugget makers are said to clog, need mineral buildup cleaned out, or fail within about a year or two. A longer warranty and filtered water come up as practical ways to reduce the risk, making it a tempting compact ice source if you can live with possible maintenance.

  • Households that want nugget ice for frequent countertop use, because the machine can keep working for years when maintained with filtered water and periodic cleaning.

  • Shoppers who can tolerate routine maintenance, because hard water can leave mineral buildup that needs vinegar cleaning or occasional disassembly.

  • Buyers comparing this to pricier nugget machines, because similar countertop units can cost far more while delivering the same ice style.

  • People who want a compact ice maker for parties or extra freezer backup, because it can produce enough ice without buying bags.

  • Households that need a long-lasting appliance without replacement risk, because these countertop nugget makers can clog or fail within about a year.

  • Buyers who want a low-maintenance machine in hard-water areas, because mineral buildup can clog the mechanism and require yearly teardown cleaning.

  • Shoppers who need a hassle-free warranty experience, because failures can lead to shipping the unit back at the buyer's expense.

  • People expecting a silver finish to be optional, because the deal appears to work only with the silver version.

Heads up. all of these Chinese nugget ice makers have about a 6 moth to a year lifespan then they break. The nugget spinner eventually gets so clogged it won't make ice anymore. just know you will be replacing it about once a year.
Just get the $75 Frigidaire from Costco with a longer warranty. Heck, get a second as a backup. Item #1543587

Get whiskey stones. Reusable, washable, they don't water down your drinks.

I've had the same soapstones for almost 2 decades. This is also my recommendation.

youre gonna want the warranty for these ice makers to recoup some of your money. they hardly last 1-2 years. but theyre great when they do work.

Don't buy the Frigidaire ones. I bought the EFIC2550 for my mom. She would use it to make ice on the counter then unplug after done using. It wasn't ever plugged in for more than 4hrs. After 4 or 5 months, the plastic started melting from internal heat. I called Costco because I have heard that they have a good customer service/warranty. They said it didn't cover small appliances and pointed me towards Frigidaire warranty.

Frigidaire says that the product isn't actually made by them. It's made by a company called Curtis. After several weeks of back and forth emails. They decided to replace it, but we had to ship the behemoth to them at OUR expense.

So, avoid the headache and steer clear of this model.

If people are buying a nugget icemaker, they definitely don't want a whiskey stone

I recently bought a cheap bullet shaped ice maker machine for the graduation party we had yesterday. I paid around $35 from Amazon resale. I was very impressed with how quiet it was and made enough ice for the party. We didn't have to buy a bag of ice like I was planning.

We have very hard water, so I expect to have to run through the white vinegar once in a while to keep the mineral deposits out of the ice maker machine. Ice maker in our freezer has been broken and my freezer has been full with frozen food. If my ice maker machine lasts for only 1 year of frequent use, I still think it was a good buy.

If I had more counter space or need ice often, this deal is very appealing.
