all of these Chinese nugget ice makers have about a 6 moth to a year lifespan then they break. The nugget spinner eventually gets so clogged it won't make ice anymore.
just know you will be replacing it about once a year.
Community Reviews
This countertop nugget ice maker is appealing for its small footprint, quick sonic style ice, and low price, especially in the silver finish tied to the deal. The machine is described as working well when it runs, with enough output for regular use and even parties. The main caution is durability, since similar countertop nugget makers are said to clog, need mineral buildup cleaned out, or fail within about a year or two. A longer warranty and filtered water come up as practical ways to reduce the risk, making it a tempting compact ice source if you can live with possible maintenance.
Common Questions (5)
Many of these countertop nugget ice makers are reported to last about 6 months to 2 years, with clogging or spinner issues being common failure points. A warranty is worth considering because the unit may work well until it suddenly stops making ice.
Highly filtered water is recommended because mineral buildup can clog the machine and leave a sand-like residue that needs periodic teardown cleaning. Reverse-osmosis or softened water can reduce scale, while hard water may require vinegar cleaning cycles.
A Costco return may be possible because this is a small appliance, not a large appliance, and a full refund is argued to be available if it fails. The unit also has a 1-year manufacturer warranty, but shipping for warranty service may be expensive.
Yes. The promo is reported to apply only to the silver version of the ice maker, so the color matters when checking out.
Let it sit on the counter for 2+ hours so the coolant can settle, then run the clean cycle before making ice. That startup routine is used to help the machine run properly and avoid issues right away.

We didn't use distilled water or any kind of special water except we have a water softener which almost eliminates the minerals which cause hard water, lime, scale, build up, etc.
