No idea, but after two season, mine is just as sharp as the day I bought it.

For those concerned about safety, when you release the trigger the jaws re-open. So there is a bit of a safety mechanism built in to the tool.

Definitely not terrifying tool. There is a safety trigger.
These are great, especially for tight spaces where you can't get any other tool.
Pro tip: You can store them with the blade jaws closed if you pull the trigger to close them, keep your finger on the trigger, remove the battery, release the trigger, and put the battery back in.
