Lavazza Espresso medium roast is a budget-friendly whole bean coffee that works well in many superautomatic machines and is often described as not oily. The beans can be fresh when the roast date is recent, and the price drops sharply with the coupon and Subscribe and Save combo. The main knocks are that freshness can be hit or miss on Amazon, and the flavor is often described as bland, boring, or lacking a sweet finish. A practical pick if you want an inexpensive everyday bean and do not need a bold cup.
Common Questions (4)
It is described as not dark roast and not especially oily, and several fully automatic users report no clogging problems. A few machines can still misread beans and over-grind, so the issue may be machine-specific rather than caused by this coffee alone.
Several comments describe it as bland, boring, or lacking a sweet finish, especially compared with fuller-bodied beans like Peet's. It is still considered good for the price by some, but it may be better suited to cold brew or a milder cup.
You need to subscribe first, then clip the 30% coupon on the product page. The final price depends on Subscribe & Save: about $11.37 with the standard 5% S&S discount, or about $9.62 if your account gets 15% S&S.
Freshness is hit or miss because the roast date can vary by shipment, not just the stamped expiration date. One recent purchase had a March 30 roast date, which suggests some bags arrive fairly fresh.
