Community Reviews
Lavazza Espresso medium roast is a budget-friendly whole bean coffee that works well in many superautomatic machines and is often described as not oily. The beans can be fresh when the roast date is recent, and the price drops sharply with the coupon and Subscribe and Save combo. The main knocks are that freshness can be hit or miss on Amazon, and the flavor is often described as bland, boring, or lacking a sweet finish. A practical pick if you want an inexpensive everyday bean and do not need a bold cup.
The coupon and Subscribe & Save workflow can produce a low order total when the 30% coupon is applied after subscribing.
Some fully automatic machines can handle these medium roast beans without clogging after using large quantities.
The beans can be aromatic when they are not stale, which supports using them for cold brew.
The roast date can be recent, which may help maintain freshness for espresso-style brewing.
The checkout price can vary by account and coupon availability, so the expected $11.37 or $9.62 total may not match every order.
The 30% coupon may be limited to one bag per coupon use, which can reduce savings if multiple bags are needed.
The coffee can taste bland or lack a sweet finish, and some buyers report using it only for cold brew.
Fully automatic machines may clog if the grinder reruns and over-grinds, so some users need workarounds like bypass chute or separate grinding.

I do not by Lavazza unless it is less then $10 for a 2.2lb bag.

PER OP.. $17.49 - 30% when you 'clip' the coupon on product page - 5% when you check out via Subscribe & Save = $11.37. and if you get 15% off with subscribe and save the cost becomes $9.62.
So either your price is $11.37 or $9.62.
But you NEED to hit subscribe and save FIRST and then hit the 30% coupon button (good for ONE bag)... and depending on how many thing you subscribe to your price should be $11.37 OR $9.62.
My fully automatic tends to get clogged and waste some kinds of beans and it may be due to oil content

your machine has an issue!!!

This is not dark roast (usually dark roasts are more oily then medium or light roast). I did not find them too oily. I think you are good.
And I am sure there is nothing wrong with you machine. But what system do you have (what brand machine do you have)?
I have a bunch of Three Sister's coffee, so Lavazza of course and coffee that I purchased in Costa Rico and Hundorus.
I personally have no issues with Lavazza.

..which is following the deal instructions yet is neither $11.37 nor $9.62. The differentiators are whether you use the 10% coupon or the S/S coupon (5% / 15%), and if you can get it to combine both discounts. I couldn't get the discounts to combine even following the order of application in the instructions. I remember getting them to combine when I used the 30% (one time) coupon in the past, so YMMV.
BTW: On my account the Lavazza Espresso Barista Gran Crema is also the same price.

Good Luck

I have a fully automatic Cuisinart EM-1000. Apparently many fully automatics have similar problems. But basically my machine thinks there's no beans and the grinder has to be rerun, which leads to it grinding too many beans and then clogging.
Typically if I get a bean kind that I have this problem with I'll either 1) grind it all up separately in my coffee grinder and use the coffee grounds directly in the machine (with the bypass chute) or I will just put enough beans in the hopper for my cup and let the grinder run 10x, which is when it gives up grinding and goes into brewing.
