Community Reviews
Lavazza Espresso medium roast is a budget-friendly whole bean coffee that works well in many superautomatic machines and is often described as not oily. The beans can be fresh when the roast date is recent, and the price drops sharply with the coupon and Subscribe and Save combo. The main knocks are that freshness can be hit or miss on Amazon, and the flavor is often described as bland, boring, or lacking a sweet finish. A practical pick if you want an inexpensive everyday bean and do not need a bold cup.
The coupon and Subscribe & Save workflow can produce a low order total when the 30% coupon is applied after subscribing.
Some fully automatic machines can handle these medium roast beans without clogging after using large quantities.
The beans can be aromatic when they are not stale, which supports using them for cold brew.
The roast date can be recent, which may help maintain freshness for espresso-style brewing.
The checkout price can vary by account and coupon availability, so the expected $11.37 or $9.62 total may not match every order.
The 30% coupon may be limited to one bag per coupon use, which can reduce savings if multiple bags are needed.
The coffee can taste bland or lack a sweet finish, and some buyers report using it only for cold brew.
Fully automatic machines may clog if the grinder reruns and over-grinds, so some users need workarounds like bypass chute or separate grinding.

My fully automatic tends to get clogged and waste some kinds of beans and it may be due to oil content
I have a fully automatic Cuisinart EM-1000. Apparently many fully automatics have similar problems. But basically my machine thinks there's no beans and the grinder has to be rerun, which leads to it grinding too many beans and then clogging.
Typically if I get a bean kind that I have this problem with I'll either 1) grind it all up separately in my coffee grinder and use the coffee grounds directly in the machine (with the bypass chute) or I will just put enough beans in the hopper for my cup and let the grinder run 10x, which is when it gives up grinding and goes into brewing.
edit: this and other "medium" lavazza beans work fine in my Delonghi and Philips Superautos.
I have gone wine tasting eight different weekends in my life. And why is it the wine I find that tastes the best IS ALWAYS the most expensive.
You think sugar is not sweet for everyone?
Point is, your taste is not far off from everyone's.
Tell me, did you like beer the first time you tasted it?
This is what I can say... I got the breville Bambino and I did notice the taste of my coffee became more smooth over night. Even old crazy dark roast beens that I avoided seem to taste decent. I was doing a 8oz pull... now I do a 4oz pull and add 4oz of water.

I have this and can only use it for cold brew.

HOWEVER, I found that the actual coffee was kind of bland in terms of flavor, even when I let it sit for 3 days (cold brew method). So when Costco put the Peets coffee beans on sale, I stocked up on it---enjoy the full-bodied taste so much more and that's just with a normal 24 hour brew time!
PS. Supposedly, medium roast beans have significantly more caffeine than dark roast (Peet's) but I honestly don't notice any difference in energy. Strange, because I've had the Mayorga medium roast beans from Costco, and didn't experience such a dismal blandness.
