That game's greatness has only gotten greater since it has enhanced graphics and processing on the Switch 2.

This should have been a $20-30 "Nintendo Selects" game like five years ago. Nintendo is greedy.

They still have some of the "8BitDo All-Button Arcade Controller for Switch/Switch 2 & Windows". $40 is wild for a solid leverless controller. It's rare to see a leverless with a wireless option, let alone 2.4GHz (better than Bluetooth, but not compatible with Switch). I'd seen them get down to around $35 (MSRP $90), but I can't find anyone badmouthing them even at regular price so I bit at $40 this time around.

I'll be using it for MiSTer and PC/SteamOS primarily. YouTube reviewers showed that the bean-shaped buttons are remappable, although there apparently may not yet (or ever) be any option to remap analog sticks to them—often a dealbreaker for Smash players. A lot of people choose to disable the lower bean-shaped custom buttons (using the included flush caps) and remap the top-left one to be 'dpad up.' A review on Woot said they were able to get it running on PS5, but the hoops necessary to do so looked a little annoying to deal with:

Quote from Nicholas Hyunh :
... it works flawlessly on PS5 with a Brook Wingman FGC2. You have to get a firmware update with the Wingman and turn on the PS5 with a normal dualshock controller first. Plug the wingman in with the 8bitdo leverless wired and turn on the 8bitdo as a PC controller, NOT switch. It should then work seamlessly.
Expect to update drivers using 8bitdo's Ultimate V2 software, available for Mac and Windows. This is necessary for Switch 2 compatibility.

Even though you would definitely get $35+ worth of value out of playing this game, I agree. Nintendo refuses to discount their first-party titles enough.
