This is my favorite one of Ryan's books. He doesn't revolutionize anything he writes about but he always presents things in a motivational way, imho

Self-help mostly. Holiday has been criticized for heavily watering down philosophical concepts and techniques. His books are more life-hacks than substance.

He pimps his books daily in his Daily Stoic emails.

No, he is a phony. But made many millions before people finally caught on.

Can you elaborate? I've never read any of his books. They seem to be popular and show up on Amazon lists a lot.

I've read quite a few of his books, including this one. I enjoyed it a lot. He presents stoic philosophy in a very digestible way, mostly through stories of other historical figures. Seems like most self help-style books receive mountains of hate online. It's not really a big secret... if you find that these books help you at all, then that's a good thing. For $2 who even cares. Give it a shot. Im not sure why so many people choose to hate when liking stuff is so much more fun.
