It has the same motor, etc. Some might even prefer the paddle controls over the touchscreen buttons and rotary knob.
Plus, in recent years Blendtec has been increasingly reluctant to sell replacement parts for older units.
I think I would rather buy something from Walmart than a Blendtec at this point.
