Jumped on a similar deal from Amazon a while back and it came in the plastic bag. Rice tasted different and didn't cook to the same consistency as the jute version. I'd stick with local stores for a household staple like rice.
Community Reviews
Royal basmati rice is the main draw here, with the deal landing at less than a dollar per pound and, after discounts, around the mid 20s for 30 pounds. The price is described as the best seen in about a year, and it fits everyday use for sides, biryani, and other savory dishes. Packaging is a recurring detail, with this version arriving in plastic bags with a faux jute look and a clear inner liner rather than true jute. The main cautions are that local club and Asian store prices can be close, and the brand is questioned for fragrance, grain length, and occasional chemical taste.
Common Questions (5)
It can be cheaper than Sam's Club or Costco once you compare total pounds and apply available discounts. The 2-pack is 30 lb total, and commenters calculated prices like $25.47 with free shipping or about $0.85/lb, versus roughly $20 for 20 lb at Sam's.
It arrives in plastic packaging, not a true jute bag. The bag is described as plastic with a fake jute-like texture, sealed with strings, and a clear plastic liner inside.
Some shoppers say it does not have the usual basmati fragrance and may not be true long-grain basmati. Others still use it regularly for sides and biryani, so the main appeal here is price rather than premium aroma.
Subscribe & Save is inconsistent on the item page, but it can appear after adding the rice to cart and checking out. One checkout path showed 5% off to $28.47, while another path reported the 15% discount when the subscription setup was available.
A simple method is to wash it twice, use 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice, and cook it in an Instant Pot for 5 minutes. That ratio is the specific guidance shared for getting the rice to cook properly.
