Royal basmati rice is the main draw here, with the deal landing at less than a dollar per pound and, after discounts, around the mid 20s for 30 pounds. The price is described as the best seen in about a year, and it fits everyday use for sides, biryani, and other savory dishes. Packaging is a recurring detail, with this version arriving in plastic bags with a faux jute look and a clear inner liner rather than true jute. The main cautions are that local club and Asian store prices can be close, and the brand is questioned for fragrance, grain length, and occasional chemical taste.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can be cheaper than Sam's Club or Costco once you compare total pounds and apply available discounts. The 2-pack is 30 lb total, and commenters calculated prices like $25.47 with free shipping or about $0.85/lb, versus roughly $20 for 20 lb at Sam's.

  • It arrives in plastic packaging, not a true jute bag. The bag is described as plastic with a fake jute-like texture, sealed with strings, and a clear plastic liner inside.

  • Some shoppers say it does not have the usual basmati fragrance and may not be true long-grain basmati. Others still use it regularly for sides and biryani, so the main appeal here is price rather than premium aroma.

  • Subscribe & Save is inconsistent on the item page, but it can appear after adding the rice to cart and checking out. One checkout path showed 5% off to $28.47, while another path reported the 15% discount when the subscription setup was available.

  • A simple method is to wash it twice, use 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice, and cook it in an Instant Pot for 5 minutes. That ratio is the specific guidance shared for getting the rice to cook properly.

Great deal!!
If anyone is trying to pay with EBT it wouldn't give me that choice to click on EBT payment. Had to refresh page many times till it finally gave me that option for payment.

You sure about that? I buy Royal basmati from Costco regularly, in that bag at that price, and it's never been organic. I just bought my most recent bag in May, and it definitely doesn't say organic on it. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold the organic version in some areas, but I have doubts that it would be the same price. Also, just in case anyone reading this isn't aware, the major thing to worry about with rice is arsenic levels, and being organic does not reduce the arsenic level in rice in any way.
There are so many other things to worry about than a very trivial amount of arsenic on grain products. Do you drink bottled water? Microplastics in our oceans and food. Do you use electricity or drive? CO2 and methane aggravating climate events. There are bigger fish out there.

basmati rice for which Filipino cuisine or dishes?
Look for a recipe in Google using the words: chicken, adobo, Philippines, best. This chicken dish is delicious (I've made it several times) and is the unofficial dish of the Philippines and you may have never heard of it.

I spent over a month at the Subic Bay Naval Base when it was still a thing. I had to go outside of the base to taste this the first time. also, you might want to Google pancit and lumpia to accompany the adobo.

Bon Appetit!

They're $20 a bag in Sam's Club yesterday I checked for 20lb bag. I'm not sure if this is much of a discount
Ditto at Costco and was going to say the same about the discount but for those without either membership this deal make sense.

Showing 29.97 for 30 lbs for me, Sam's is showing $2.00 off or $19.98 for 20 lbs. So Yeah, 2 PENNIES CHEAPER for possible Amazon counterfeit crap in Plastic bags instead of proper burlap. You are a financial genius.

for those that have received their order, what bag did it come in? plastic bags, or jute bag with a zipper????
Aside: The 20lb jute bags I've gotten in the past that have the zipper top (from Sam's Club) include a thick sealed plastic bag within them that houses the rice. I usually cute the top of the bag, store a measuring cup within it, then clip it shut (and keep it with the jute bag). Do other versions have the rice directly within the jute with nothing else?

I'm not saying I think the arsenic is a big concern, I'm saying that it matters FAR more than the rice being organic or not.
The arsenic levels in rice are probably something a person who eats a lot of rice daily should at least think about, but I'm not one of those people. I personally don't care about either one for myself.

The Subscribe & Save option was missing for me too on the item page. However after adding it to my cart, I was able to check the box on the checkout page to Subscribe and Save 5% off and get it down to the original deal price of $28.47. I'm not too familiar with the process to add it to future orders to get the 15% off savings, but perhaps try again if you just want the 5% savings.
