I was so close to pulling the trigger on this but I still cant justify it with the limited use cases i can think of. Maybe its one of those things you buy and then findbuse cases?

Thanks, got it for $210 before tax with $17 off for Paypal as well. So, assuming it credits, it'll be $168. Not certain it will credit though as I had some issues during checkout and not sure whether they will deny for using a promo code.
My PayPal discount did not show up so I went back and read the terms, and it says you get the discount when you use PayPal Pay Later. Bummer...

That's what I thought but I actually got the discount without using Pay Later. It showed the discount for both for me when I was checking out.

I'm having a ton of fun with my AD5X. I don't print multi-head much, but it's nice to have the option. I'm finishing the AD5X enclosure right now.

Just ordered the AD5X. First 3d printer, figured I would go all in.

Something odd if anyone has seen similar issues: Imhadnthe printer in my cart and then looked at pla filaments. There was a .99 cent deal for colored pla. I had to select one at a time, then select the aliexpress log, then select cart. I had to do this each time for every filament I picked to get them to all show up in the cart. I purchased the printer and then went back to the tab with the filaments and they all jumped to about $13 each. When I searched Ali the .99 cent deal was gone. It's like committing to the printer or using PayPal for it negated them.99 deal. Strange behavior. I'll just order a pack of colors or something but that was weird.
It's weird but normal for AliExpress, they have first time buyer deals to get you to setup an account and buy something but once you do then all those super cheap deals disappear. I see it all the time when I go to look for something on AliExpress and I'm not logged in. Once I log in the prices all go up and the deals are gone.

It definitely is a thing where you see, or imagine, plenty of "solutions" around the house once you have a printer and see the potential. Though a lot of it will come down to your skill level as far as modeling your own items as that is where the real learning curve is at for anything but the most simple shapes. Plenty of online tutorials though.

That said, there are millions of free models already done and ready for you to just start printing right away. And that goes for the most random minimum use ideas as well... Like replacement caps or battery lids for specific remote controls, various knobs and switches for random electronics and everything in-between.

If you NEED a justifying reason to buy a printer to solve a specific task then look around you home and see if there is anything broken or missing that a bit of plastic might solve. If you are into any kind of nostalgic display pieces then that will be super easy as there is an avalanche of pop culture "junk" to print which can be great and save you money in decorating or bury you in knickknacks lol.

To get an idea, go browse, or search your favorite pop culture theme on makerworld.com (lots of various model sites but this one is well organized and a little less of the junk) or search for specific products in your home, and get an idea what is already made ready for you to print. If everything looks lame to you then you have an easy answer. If you see things that look cool to have then the only thing standing in your way is a great little budget printer and some filament 😁

Were you able to figure this out? I'm having the same issue.

I know Flashforge price isn't up there with the Bambu, but I wish they spend just a little more time polishing their app/network connectivity and slicer. LAN is okay with PC but can't use with the app; would like to see my print status on my phone. Version 1.7.6 of the slicer would shut down on me all the time, and there were issues with version 1.7.7. So, they removed it and kept the 1.7.6 for now.

Got my AD5M for a similar price and I am having a great time with it.

Really solid printer for the price, I picked the AD5M over the AD5X just to save a bit of space and money, which gives me a better excuse to upgrade to a tool-changer printer in the future.
