Yep. The idiots flying around on e bikes doing 40+ mph on the sidewalk and trails are bringing heat on all of us. There were literally some kids riding a couple e bikes at around 40mph down the sidewalk and streets doing wheelies the other week. To make it even better, it was dark and the bikes were of the dirt bike variety with no headlights...
That said. I've had the green version of this bike for the past few months and it was great. I ride respectfully and get zero attention on the sidewalk. This bike has very low key looks compared to what many are riding around. As long as you ride reasonably, I don't think cops and karens are going to go out of their way to mess with you...

You're not wrong! Buy 2 and use the second one for parts. I'm glad I did because I ordered 2 on the last deal which was close to this price, and one of them had a bad controller. It took two months for Urlife to get me a warranty replacement. I had to jump through several hoops to get it too. Many back and forth emails, multiple upload videos. Aliexpress was no help. Ultimately I received the replacement but I almost just gave up and ordered one from their website for $75. If I didn't already have a fully functioning bike, I would have.
