I'm not sure what the odds are of getting an authentic DJI drone from Ali express but my experience with Amazon has been pretty great. You pay a little bit more money however, if you have that protection plan a cover is pretty much everything except for if you fly your drone into the water, for example, and cannot recover it for the most part I would highly suggest getting that monthly Amazon protection plan. I think it's like 17 bucks a month overall if you have even one claim a year more than pays for itself just a personal opinion.

I'd generally say the more advanced something is, the less of a chance you'd get a non-authentic item AND not be able to tell. $20 electronic screwdriver? Sure. But a $1,000 drone?

Now, I guess it's still possible you'd get a non-authentic one that you WOULD be able to tell was a fake, but then you should be able to dispute/return.

For me, if the difference b/t Ali and Amz is a small amount, I'd probably just go with Amz. If it's a lot ($100+), I'd take my chance.

There are no inauthentic or fake or counterfeit DJI drones sold in the open market especially not at Aliexpress. If you are talking about a knockoff, anybody can stick a different drone in a box and ship it to you. But it's not possible to open a box that looks a whole lot like a DJI drone but in fact it's not but you can't tell. All DJI drones are the same, either you get a real one or you get something else you didn't order. However, sellers can tamper with the packaging, that is possible. Just have your credit card ready. The same sellers on Ali are the same sellers on Amazon....from China.

I don't think it will have warranty from DJI. I think DJI only allows US authorized sellers.

Most likely won't have a valid warranty; there are no authorized sellers left in the US especially not for the M5P.
