Domino's 50 percent off menu-priced pizzas is mainly a way to get a fresh, customizable pie with more topping choices and nearby stores, and the XL New York style gets a nod for its size. The deal can still land around $8 to $11 for a large, with specialty pizzas and stuffed crust drawing praise for value and filling portions. Garlic parm sauce, well done baking, and extra sauce are recurring favorites. The main caveat is that pricing, fees, and participation vary by location, and some orders can lose value once delivery or minimum order charges appear.

  • Late-night diners wanting a customizable pie, because the garlic parm sauce and well-done bake can still make the pizza taste good.

  • Families wanting a filling pizza meal, because the stuffed crust is very filling and can cover a couple of pizza meals.

  • Shoppers who want a larger pie with more topping choices, because the XL New York style is 16 inches and the menu offers more topping options than some alternatives.

  • People who like a crisp, garlicky crust with generous sauce and toppings, because the crust can be just right and the pizza does not skimp on sauce or toppings.

Last time I did this it was still 11 dollars for a 2 topping and I don't believe a 2 topping is regularly 22 dollars
Yeah last time they had this deal and I noticed it was more to order their specialty Hawaiian at half off then just to build a Hawaiian for $9.99 local deal. I was suckered into trying the deal once and went wait a minute this pizza is not worth $22 ever and not even $11 and tax! MSRP on pizza LoL

I tried domino's for the first time in like 20 years. Pizza seemed better/acceptable but the one topping was (standard portion) onions and there was not a lot of onions. Was that an aberration or are the toppings kind of small ?

I ordered this last time and it's quite shocking what a Domino's xl ny style pizza is compared to a Costco pizza. The flavor change was nice, but damn, that few inches is a huge difference. (Yeah yeah, that's what she said.)

if you look at one of my comments in this thread, I compare Little Caesar's, Domino's, and Pizza Hut.
Domino's is the cheapest with this deal by $0.82 compared to Pizza Hut's current deal; however, it is opinion on quality. I find their pizzas to be salty.

I personally think Papa John's is the best, but currently most expensive (even with deals).

Little Caesar's is the cheapest without any deals, more expensive at regular price than Domino's with this deal and probably the worst quality.
I experienced my first in a long while pizza at Domino's too salty, but not much of a choice for me at 12:30 AM. Also the standard onions seemed not enough. I liked the taste of the garlic parm sauce.

Yes. The favored pizza chain always changes because of convenience and price. I do not think I would disagree if I was hungry at the middle of the night and I was hungry. Of course, where I am at, I have another pizza place that I am addicted to. Then again, I probably would choose Domino's because it would come out cheaper.

I did some research and I could have reduced the salt by getting the thin crust(160mg) instead of hand tossed(1600mg), which reduces the total salt for my pizza by about 35% if I did the math right.
https://cache.dominos.com/olo/3_1...nGuide.pdf
Added later: I did more research for the 160 mg value in the pdf seems wrong and found this out:
"Crust Only (No Toppings): An un-topped large thin crust is about 875 mg of sodium"
So the salt is less but not as much as that calculation - maybe 15% less.

I vehemently disagree with your position, but I truly applaud the bravery it takes to state a stance on the issue unprovoked, especially one so controversial.

Folks like to trash Domino's, YMMV, but our Dominos pizza is great. Past few years, our Papa John's crust has been soggy with grease and its cheese was 'clumpy' (not sure how to describe it). It's like they are skimping with lower quality ingredients (their sauce is still pretty great, however).
Domino's crust was garlic-ly and just the right amount of crispiness, cheese was perfect, and they didn't skimp on the sauce & toppings.
I honestly think Domino's is the best of the 4 major nationwide chains (Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Little Caesars). I do prefer Marco's for this style of pizza, but Domino's isn't bad and it's cheaper when they have delas like this.

There have been complaints of gift cards not working online. Some even state that they go to the actual franchise and they will not accept them (which is new to me). Blink

Agreed. Our Dominos is great. I always choose the "well done" and "extra sauce" options. The sauce makes the pie for me.The same woman is there any time I go and pick it up. Shes super friendly, quick, and is always attentive. My local Papa John's is closer and the last time I ordered, it lacked any discernible flavor. It had cheese, sauce and crust, but it was like when you're sick and your nose is stuffed and your taste is gone. Just no flavor at all.

I think it generated some good and funny replies. If you have such an issue with it why even engage?
