Domino's 50 percent off menu-priced pizzas is mainly a way to get a fresh, customizable pie with more topping choices and nearby stores, and the XL New York style gets a nod for its size. The deal can still land around $8 to $11 for a large, with specialty pizzas and stuffed crust drawing praise for value and filling portions. Garlic parm sauce, well done baking, and extra sauce are recurring favorites. The main caveat is that pricing, fees, and participation vary by location, and some orders can lose value once delivery or minimum order charges appear.

Common Questions (5)

  • A large 14-inch hand-tossed pepperoni can land around $8.35 in some areas, while other locations show about $9.18 or higher. Specialty pizzas can test around $10 to $10.50, and local menu-price deals may still beat the promo on some orders.

  • The promo applies to qualifying Domino's menu-price pizzas with no topping restriction mentioned, and specialty pizzas like Hawaiian or spicy chicken BBQ can be included. The discount is on the pizza portion only, so add-ons, crust upgrades, toppings, sauces, taxes, and fees can still raise the final total.

  • Yes. Free restaurant pickup/carryout can avoid delivery fees, but some locations may still price the deal differently or require the offer to be ordered online, so the final savings depend on the store.

  • Domino's New York Style comes in an XL 16-inch size, which is about 30% larger than a 14-inch pizza. It still trails Costco on value, but it offers more topping choices and is usually easier to find nearby.

  • Yes. Minimum-order charges and delivery fees can wipe out much of the discount, and some stores may not honor the special price for walk-in carryout. Checking the local store page and choosing pickup when available helps avoid surprise costs.

The New York style comes in XL (16"). For those not good with math 16" pizza is 30% larger than a 14".

Not as good an option as the costco pizzas. But more topping options and stores usually closer than costco.
I think the best value times to consider upgrading to XL pizzas might be during an offer of like $3 to upgrade a pretty filling pizza. In terms of dough weight I think Dominos might use the same amount in their Hand tossed recipe large as their XL new York style recipe. Not sure.

If you're not looking for a Specialty pizza, aka Supreme, Hawaiian, etc. On their deals page they have 1 Large 3 Topping Pizza – Carryout Only, for 9.99. This is less than I could make a 2 topping purchase with this 50% off deal.
I think i ordered a 5 topping large for like $13 a few days ago from Domino's. Might have been a local store page offer.

Yea, they have a 5 topping large for $11.99, carry-out only on the deals page. Just didn't mention it because the Specialty pizzas are around 10$ with this deal on the original post.

I'm happy to take advantage of the 50% off deal. Is competition that stiff between the pizza places or is Dominos loosing market share and is desperate?

if you look at one of my comments in this thread, I compare Little Caesar's, Domino's, and Pizza Hut.
Domino's is the cheapest with this deal by $0.82 compared to Pizza Hut's current deal; however, it is opinion on quality. I find their pizzas to be salty.

I personally think Papa John's is the best, but currently most expensive (even with deals).

Little Caesar's is the cheapest without any deals, more expensive at regular price than Domino's with this deal and probably the worst quality.

Not as good an option as the costco pizzas. But more topping options and stores usually closer than costco.
For those that have left menial math to free online access to 65 TFLOPS and AI heuristics, we can further justify the larger pizza via the effective pizza quotient, which is FOS- Fillings Occupied Surface (P_fOS)

Math says as diameter decreases, total area shrinks exponentially, while crust area just shrinks linearly.

Check deals and then local deals. You may find the any toppings for $9.99. It has bumped up to $11.99. Myself I order large NY with double cheese, double pepperoni, double bacon and then add what I feel like.

Be careful with Domino's.... They will get you on their site and have you spend time putting together your order and then they hit you with minimum order amount fees and delivery fees when you check out which wipes out any sale price incentives.. When I try to adjust my order to bring the amount up to avoid minimum order fees, it made no difference. Then if you want to walk into the Domino's store to pick up to avoid delivery fees and minimum amount fees, they say the special price is only available online. At least this was the case at the store closest to my house in Southern California. I gave up with Domino's. Too many other choices out there that won't "bait-and-switch" me.
I've been ordering from Dominos for the better part of 20 years.

Never had an issue with ordering online for in-store pickup. They even incentivize this openly -- saying that delivery will cost more. It's 2026, who actually walks into a store to order something anymore? use your magic rectangle.

Costco Pizza is better than pizza hut and Caesars
That works out if you have one of these Cost Corporations or Pizza Huts or Caesars in your area.
