I paid $350 for this in december. Shocking how much prices have gone up. However, this is a great laptop for battery life and works fine for normal tasks (office, video conference, browsing, etc).
Some of the deals on here lately don't even have 16GB ram.
Shill accounts backing snapdragon are delusional here.No point of buying Windows laptop if you are not getting Intel-AMD and whole windows app-games compatibility. Snapdragon sucks at this. Unless it is as productive as buying Apple laptop with M5 chip or sth to perhaps even running local AI LLM people should avoid this.
Not a shill and love my Snapdragon Windows laptop. Pretty zippy on most things I do with it.
I bought the Lenovo X1 a couple of weeks ago. Was able to load Ubuntu Concept on it in a dual boot configuration. There are two things that have nothing to do with the Snapdragon that I don't like. One, NO fingerprint reader, and two, the screen does not flip so you can use it like a tablet. Having this in the bed is like having a brick between you and your better half.

I understand what you're saying. But for me, I needed a light lappy that I could take on trips without killing my shoulder carrying it. When on vaca, I usually just need social media/youtube and mail. So, this fits for me, but not everyone.
I have no issues with my surface laptop. Runs a Snapdragon. I use it for what is good at. I want a Windows computer that had good battery life, that will wake and sleep timely. No fan craziness. I want a MacBook Air with windows. There are many things I do where I don't like using my Mac. It's a slower process for me than to do it on windows. So the surface laptop being able to do what I need to perfect. There are other tasks I prefer to use my Mac and I love it. So I'll use my MacBook pro. But I usually carry both laptops with me. Outside of that for the tasks that are really truly heavy and I prefer to use Windows instead of my MacBook pro, I have another Windows laptop that has an Intel processor.
I'm not trying to say everyone can have multiple computers that are current and things like that. But it always gets to me when someone's trying to use a car and complain that it doesn't have a bad to carry and haul things. You know exactly what you're looking at instead of saying it's just garbage or something like that. For many of us it works. If we got a Windows laptop with all this power and everything you will be complaining that it doesn't have battery life. Which is what my gaming laptop has. Less than an hour of battery life if I was going to be used in for those task heavy situations. I can use my my Snapdragon computer which I do not game on unless I'm streaming xbox. Which works perfectly fine. Just like my phone anything else. So what application do the majority of these people use no matter what computer, a browser. Okay great the majority of people want all this power to do nothing with. If you're not making money off of your device stop buying too much that you don't need. My MacBook pro can do pretty much anything I want... But they're just tasks that don't work as well or preference. User experience. They're things I expect from all applications and they're different depending on what operating system they're on.
Not a shield just a person with GAS and real expectations. It's been the same for over a decade. I hear a lot of people complain about something don't get this don't get that. And all I can say is huh that sucks for you, I don't have the experience. I don't protect any company I'm not loyal to anyone. I don't need someone else to backup my purchase. There are many things I have that I might be the only person that likes it. I'm fine with that. I just need the tools to work for me. And all it sounds like to me is that people have tools and not working for them not because the tools don't work, but because they're really not using the tool correctly.

Intel 226V, 228V, 265V options are available with touchscreen, light, OLED and all. Much more productive.
Apple has 'lappys' easy to carry as well.
Snapdragon and windows together have been a very bad choice for 99% of the users.
Is this a fair comparison? Snapdragon:
X = Core 3
X Plus = Core 5
X Elite = Core 7
apart from snapdragon sucking at every department, segmentation wise probably yes.
for anyone who are not a nerd that will not use linux etc, this is bad choice. painting this like intel also would fool some people here making bad choices.
This is not a good basic windows laptop. Not a proper windows with that CPU.
Running anything that is x86 requires emulation that slows down workflow. ARM is superior technology on the hardware front, but Windows is so slow to see the future, grasping to every shred of X86 it can. Hopefully Nvidia can convince them to make the migration. I use Windows, Linux Mint, MacOS, and ChromeOS regularly, and I am not loyal to any of them. I like/dislike all of them for different reasons. But, using Snapdragon hardware with Windows is like using it with a MacBook. It'll work, but it's not the best combination. Qualcomm should have teamed up with Google to create the next line of AluminiumOS devices. ARM on an Android computer makes the most sense.
Why the heck would you buy an ARM Windows if you use x86 apps? Why not buy an Intel or AMD windows? It's like buying an android phone and complaining that it does not have airplay.
