I've been using this laptop for about a month now, having picked it up during the Walmart sale for $429. For the price, it's a solid machine, provided you aren't expecting a hardcore gaming rig.
On the positive side, the battery life is excellent—which was my primary reason for buying it. It handles my daily workflow without issue, which includes running three separate Citrix Workspace connections, various SSH sessions and shells using MSYSARM64, VS Code for Terraform and Ansible, Chrome for music/streaming, and VLC for IPTV playback.
While the 300-nit display isn't OLED, it is perfectly adequate given the price point. My 54 yr old eyes can't handle 14" screens anymore thus I like the size of 16". The weight is decently light for the frame, another reason I don't use a gaming laptop.
My only real gripe is the keyboard; it requires more deliberate pressure to register keystrokes compared to my Asus ZenBook, which has led to more typos than I'm used to. Overall, it's a capable device if you have similar productivity needs. and the batter life is great.

So much fear mongering on the arm cpu. Apples m5 is arm. So much love for the m5. Arm on windows use to have app compatibility issues 5 years ago. Not anymore. Same with apple when the first switch over to arm. Most common apps work natively now. None native apps is emulated quite well now.
Arm is not slow. It is the future. The arm architecture will be the dominant architecture. To me the most crippling thing about a laptop is battery life. Arm solves this with 20 plus hours of battery life.

Some native arm apps: Notepad++, LibreOffice, VLC, GIMP for Arm64, IrfanView 4.72 for Arm64, Blender for arm, Firefox for Arm https://www.firefox.com/en-US/dow...p-release/

So, native ARM64 exist on windows.

Snapdragon and windows together have been a very bad choice for 99% of the users.
I don't know what stock investments you have in Apple and Intel, but I've been using computers since 1981 and know a thing or two. These snapdragons do fine. Apparently for you, they don't. I'm not spending my money on an apple and their CLOSED system of apps. I use linux as much as I can for security. I'm sick of Intel bowing down to the US Government and their 'built-in' spycraft. I even despise windows for building in crack codes for the NSA. I've worked in government and know NOT to trust them. I really don't care what you're motives are, but I'm blocking you so I don't have to see anymore of your OPINIONS.

Anyway to toss better OS on this for say game emulations instead? Maybe Bazzite OS? Chrome OS? Steam OS? Wondering what attempts have been made to leverage the snapdragon X in this lappy for that.

EDIT: I'm on a Lenovo Slim X1 laptop, don't know how far HP Omni is supported.

Be careful with this one right now - I bought one a few days ago and ran all the updates and then it starting having all kinds of software issues, so I just exchanged it, new one was working fine until I ran the software updates and now it's doing the same thing.

Not sure if it's a windows update or a driver update that's doing it, but it's incredibly frustrating
