This Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection is mainly a pack opener for players or kids who want to crack cards, with the appeal hinging on the promo and the chance to open Perfect Order packs. The price lands a little above MSRP, around $5.50 per pack, and the set is described as hard to find in some places, making this one of the more accessible options. The main knocks are weak resale, poor hit rates, and limited collector value, with the set lacking big chase cards. It feels best for opening packs rather than chasing profit or premium pulls.

  • The purchase can work as a near-MSRP option for someone prioritizing pack opening over collector value.

    isekiiFcLegend

  • The bundle can be a practical way to start ripping packs when card availability is limited.

    youra6

  • Perfect Order can still be enjoyable for art-focused openings even without ultra-high chase hits.

    homegrownloser

  • The set can deliver terrible hit rates, which can reduce excitement from opening packs.

    Dudavis88

  • The overall set may not be worth it because Perfect Order packs can feel overpriced per pack.

    leeterbike

  • Collector value can be weak, since resale offers may land around $40 after purchase.

    newred5

  • The included packs are described only as assorted, so the pack generation mix may not match expectations.

Only scumbag scalpers think it's a flop.
I wouldn't go to absolutes like that. The site just says it's assorted packs, so I'm not sure if they are all from this gen. We got a 6 pack of ascended heroes for $30 last week at our local card shop and they were readily available. This isn't much worse, I guess it all comes down to if Mega Zygarde ex is important to you.

Is there a potential for any good cards in here? Unfortunately lost all my Pokémon cards from when I was a kid, but I have been interested in ripping packs for fun. I know I will most likely not recoup the money, but seems fun. If not what are some sets I should look out for at msrp?

5.50 per pack of perfect order is not worth it. Whole set is kind of a flop.
Let's be honest, they shouldn't be more than $4 a pack anyway. Crazy that now $6+ for some cardboard stock is the norm in retail stores.

Any Pokemon at retail is a good buy if you're looking to enjoy the hobby and rip. Perfect Order may not be the best set but my kids and I enjoy ripping packs just for fun.

A flop how so? Like if you want to sell it or if you actually want to use them as playing cards? Or both?
I love Perfect Order. No it doesn't have $800-$1600 hits, but it's still a good set with a sick Meowth.

Both. My kid plays and likes the art, he lost all interest in this set. Looking at collector value it's not there either. He's not excited or interested in opening the packs we have, let alone buying more.
