This is pretty close to sonicare though not same in performance. Best part is the brush heads are compatible with Sonicare. So you are getting the entire set for less than Phillips brush heads.
PS: I have been using Sonicare for over 18 years and bought this couple of months ago

I use Sonicare, hope husband like this better than his manual brush. Time will tell, or I'll just take the 8 heads for myself.

i got the usb plugin version last time for $6. works fine. last 2+ months on a single charge. extra $3 for the charging base? meh

From the reviews, it sounds like this is better than a manual toothbrush but falls short of the best electric toothbrushes out there.

If you're buying it just for the toothbrush heads, people don't think they're as good as Sonicare.
But, if you're still using a manual brush or really don't want to pay Sonicare's prices for replacement toothbrush heads (I think they save me at the dentist, so I'm willing, but I make them last 5-6 months), this may be worth a try.

Some people who got the toothbrush free, in exchange for writing a review, still only gave it 3 stars or lower.

Re: USB charger - from some reviews, sounds like people are saying you can't use the same charger you plug phones in to. Does anyone know if this is true?

I don't think these brush heads will fit a Sonicare handle. The Aquasonic ones do and can use Sonicare non Diamondclean chargers so I'd wait on a sale on those
