This 9 foot push tilt patio umbrella is mainly a budget shade option that feels decent for the price, with a sturdy look and a simple setup for pool decks or weighted stands. The fabric is repeatedly described as thin, and the crank mechanism can feel cheap. Rain can bleed through, and fading or wear over time is a concern, so treating it with a water repellent may help. It comes across as a practical short term patio umbrella rather than a heavy duty one.

  • The umbrella can exceed expectations for a low-cost purchase despite thin fabric.

  • Applying Scotch Guard or a heavy water repellent can help reduce sun fading and water-related rot.

  • A weighted stand setup can improve stability since the umbrella may need added weight.

  • Home Depot pricing suggests the Woot reference price may be overstated, making the $30 level more reasonable.

  • The fabric can be very thin and rain can bleed through the umbrella.

  • The crank mechanism can feel cheap and the umbrella can fade even with low usage.

  • The umbrella is not fully waterproof, and some water-repellent sprays can leave visible white spots.

  • Some reviews report damaged components such as bent poles or broken ribs, including failures within the first week or two.

Since this thing can be angled, would it be good for a small apartment patio?

Don't forget to treat them with Scotch Guard or a heavy tent water repellent. I spray all my outdoor umbrellas a couple of times a year to help with Sun fading and rot from water (water beads off)

Most of the positive reviews on HD & Lowe's are paid/"incentivized." Many of the uncompensated/honest reviews are negative, complaining about thin fabric, bent poles, broken ribs, etc.; some claim it broke in first week or two. Definitely not worth $60, I'm debating whether it's worth $30 . . .

Home Depot sells this umbrella for $49. Not sure where the $110 is coming from. Still a deal regardless, just an FYI

Edit: The beige is $49. Other colors go up to $60
These "original" prices are always inflated. Either way I'm grabbing one before it sells out.

Just got the three I ordered. I'll say this - they're $30 umbrellas.

I bought this for $23 last week (I have W+ so shipping was free). I've used it twice since and it is thin but it's exceeded my expectations for a $23 umbrella.

Can you share what stand you use it with, and the cost? And do people close these up and leave them outside, or bring them in to prevent damage/fading?

I have holes in my pool deck that I insert it into... but also have cast iron stands in my yard I got at Walmart (in store). Yes any umbrella will fade in the sun so you will have to bring it in.

Mine is so thin that rain bleeds through it.

Yeah I got mine and I was disappointed that the rain bled right through it. Will the Scotch Guard make it waterproof?

You'll need to buy a weighted stand.
Or make one with a $5 bag of concrete.
