I'm so confused what this is? Control has been out for PS5 for years now (even a freebie on PS+), is it that this is the first time it's been available on disc?

Just as confused (and no, it's not the first time it's been available on physical, it came out in 2021). OP maybe thought this was for the upcoming Resonant game? (Also, 30 bucks for a 5 year old game that's already on a much lower sale price elsewhere is not a good deal either way).

Apparently this physical PS5 version had a limited run when it first released and has been out of print until now, which drove up aftermarket prices. So, while it's true that the digital version of this game frequently goes on sale for less than $6, this is a deal specifically for the physical version for the few people who would actually pay more for it.

It's for physical collectors. You can't find the original release physically without paying a ridiculous price it was only limited copies. this also includes the added content that wasn't on the original limited physical release

I agree. I like having the discs but I remember FF remake intergrade was limited run initially and people were asking $90 for a used copy. The ps4 copy was cheap and you could upgrade digitally or own both remake and rebirth as a digital bundle but getting that original disc was a chore.

This is a helluva game for anyone that hasn't played. I'm not going to say it's my literal favorite but it has been one of my favorites from the PS4 and current gen. Buy it digitally if you would rather save the money versus having a physical copy. I'm wanting to say it's $3 right now on the PS store.

Bought it on disc over a year ago for $20 and personally didn't think it was worth that. Some fun visuals and ideas but the gameplay was just not very fun imo

Yeah, I had it through PS+ because it was part of the PS5 collection that you got with your PS5 as a PS+ member. I really wanted to love it but it really needed to include some guide on where to go. So many of the office sections just look generic and it's difficult to know where I've gone. What's worse is guys spawn randomly and when you kill them they despawn, in most games you know you are in a new area because you see new bad guys and you know you were in an area because there's bodies on the ground. Not with this game.
I wanted to get back to it, but I found it more of a chore than enjoyable. I wasn't anticipating playing it like I was other games.
