Didn't realize Cici's still exist. Used to get the $3 buffet in HS, it was great (<3 dessert pizzas). Domino's has been pretty inflation resistant -- 5-5-5 deal ($5 for medium 1 topping) a little over 20 years ago, now it is $7 for a medium 2 topping.

I remember getting off work or school and being famished and getting a $5 pizza all to myself. Good times. Of course, that was when I didn't have as Costco membership. It's tough to beat their $10 pizza value. I just wish my area had the combination pizza.

I remember LC being $5 for years. Not the best, but you get what you pay for. So it's not bad. When we used to go, they always had the 5 buck ones already made. You could walk in and ask for a cheese, sausage or pepperoni and walk out a minute later. Do they still do that? It was great if on road trip and in a hurry. Run in, grab a pizza and be on your way. My wife would hand me a piece of pizza while driving down the road. Perfect if in a hurry. Looks like inflation hit even LC.

In the 2020s, yeah. Good deal. Look at Subway. $5 footlongs are now $7 6"s.
Little Caesar's is decent for the price. And the $5 promo brings it back to cheap 2,000 calorie poor college kid levels. Domino's remains my favorite budget chain pizza, by daughter prefers Little Caesars.
The participating stores is what scares me. The one close to my house has a tendency to do the "This promo code is not valid at this location" rejection. But if that happens, just less business for them and more business for Domino's.

Jealous. Classic Cheese and Classic Pepperoni are $7.99 at my local Little Caesars, and $9.99 when I cross the California border. So, 37.5% discount here, 50% in NorCal.
Big reason that I'm Team Domino's. $7.99 there gets a large any two topping, any crust, any cheese, any sauce pizza. If the pizza turns out bad, probably on me for trying to get more creative than I should.

Yes. The Little Caesars by me uses frozen bases (dough, sauce, cheese). Toppings are then added prior to cooking. Freezing doesn't affect the flavor, but it does kill at least some of the yeast, which means the crust loses some rise, which may explain everyone referring to their pizzas as tasting like cardboard. But a frozen base does significantly reduce cost and ensure uniform tasting pizzas across locations.
