You are probably not wrong if something else meets your needs, but I've been using eero since before they were an Amazon product, and I am quite pleased with them. At first, it was frustrating to not be able to examine logs, or configure complex VLANs and such, but eero's purpose in life is it just works. I couldn't be happier with eero.
I just ordered another Pro 6E to replace my last remaining older technology node, and the trade-in discount and value put the price about $100. My goal was not only to complete the upgrade to Pro 6E level of wi-fi, but to make my Thread Border Router solution triply redundant.

I previously bought this same Eero 3 pack and the mesh network tripled my speeds in parts of my home. I'm very happy with the speeds and how easy it was to set up. If you have an old modem or other networking device, you can turn it into Best Buy for recycling and get a 15% off coupon on most networking devices. I just bought the 2 pack Eero Pro 6E from Best Buy with the 15% credit I received and got $36 off the price of $240 for a total of $204 without tax.

I haven't seen better prices on WiFi 7 mesh network devices and for me personally, I didn't find it worth the additional cost for WiFi 7 - at least for now.

Home automation devices. As my older Zigbee battery devices age out, I'm switching them all over to Matter over Thread. First step was to replace quite a few Zigbee/ZWave+/Matter over Wi-Fi smart plugs to Matter over thread to establish a good Thread mesh.
