this seems like a really solid deal, but I just can't go for 24GB soldered ram right now. i'm still thinking about it anyway as I don't expect anything with similar specs and 64 or even 32GB ram to pop any time soon.

The plus side is the soldered ram in this case is faster @6400MHz then most DDR5 sodimm modules.

If this were actually live, it would actually be cheaper than the gmktec m7 deal from last summer, which had only 16 gigs and 512 SSD for $321, pre-RAMpocalypse. I don't think this was ever available.

No it isn't. They seem to be driving user traffic to aliexpress. Could be some kind of business deal with Slickdeals. Oh well, of this continues, I hope another deal site mushrooms.

I just claimed this deal. Looks like it's back up.

I couldn't figure out why PayPal discount wasn't stacking but just found out that it's only if you choose Pay Later.

Total price for me was 322 + Tax

The mac mini by a mile. much higher memory bandwidth (the life blood of anything related to GenAI), and the software stack is heavilly optimized for MacOS.

If youre not planning on having the machine do any of the actual "AI" stuff, then any machine, even a raspberry pi, could do the job.

Also bear in mind that youre not really supposed to "use" the machine that has any of the agentic front ends on it, as its a major security faux pas.

I was able to order one for $321 + 27 tax = $348 just now. I clicked on the link in incognito or private browsing and saw the $379.28 price minus the $58 coupon = $321.28. You might need to create a new account AliExpress account if you aren't seeing the $379 price or want to order more than one as the price goes up for my account after I ordered it. At one point I got it to show the extra $17 or $35 off using PayPal, but the payment was never successfully with those discounts. I paid for it with PayPal finally without the extra PayPal discount. Also Google AliExpress cashback for an extra 14% cashback.

Yes, if the 14% cashback comes thru it'll be another $45 back. I wasn't able to get the PayPal discount to stack.
