The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PS5 is praised as a brutal, emotionally charged story with standout gameplay and atmosphere. The remaster is described as improving on the first game in gameplay and visuals, and the PS5 graphics are said to justify the $10 upgrade for PS4 owners. It is also called well worth the price and more enjoyable to play thanks to its two perspectives and fewer frustrating sections. The main caveat is the story's heavy, depressing tone, which can be polarizing and linger after the credits. A strong pick if you want a polished, intense narrative experience.
The PS5 graphics can justify the $10 upgrade fee for owners of the PS4 version.
The story can deliver strong emotional impact while still being described as a masterpiece.
The remastered version can improve gameplay and atmosphere compared with the first game.
The game can be more enjoyable to play thanks to two points of view and fewer frustrating puzzles.
The story can be polarizing and may feel brutally depressing for some players.
Ellie's story may feel complete, and pushing further could cheapen the journey.
