I brought one of these along recently while fishing off a seawall in the Florida keys. We threw it in just for laughs and ended up catching a ton of mangrove snapper and grunts on it. The reel on it kinda sucks, but it does the job.

Anyone know if this is a two sections? Interested in leaving one in the car for those quick sessions or drive by ponds.

It's one single piece, I ordered one to do the same thing and currently have it laying in my trunk too.

Quite possibly the perfect description of this rod and reel combo. It's extremely basic but it can get the job done, and might be a decent "throw it in the car just in case you stumble across a fishing spot" rod & reel.

Same price at Walmart if you wanna stop by your local to check it out. I picked one up last year after watching a video of a girl on the dock pulling up a halibut on one of these. Im in San Diego and so gave it a shot in the bay and pulled some crappie but no halibut. Stupid thing works awesome I was so mad at my more expensive setups lol.

Id get a collapsible one instead. You can get a 5-6' one for around 35 bucks at Walmart from several good brands. Collapses down to around 18" depending on the model.

you better off spend 10x more for some proper gears, so when you catch nothing you can't blame the cheap equipments.

I think these little rods come in handy when you're in odd places. Fishing on a river bank that's heavily wooded? These come in handy. Going on a pier that's got people on it? These work great.

I was going to look for something like this! These will be perfect for putting in our side by side. Occasionally we come up to ponds or creeks while riding and like to stop and fish.

IDK Man,

Not try to be "contrarian"...BUT!!! I have seen some people drag in some MONSTERS on these Dock Demons and Dock Runners. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Take a look around at YouTube.

I caught 4 fish with it, one being a 16" smallie in current the first time out the other day. I was pretty impressed as I did not miss a fish or hookset. That said, the reel is passible but not great. Its fine for what it is. Not something I would fish more than a little bit. You can get a 5'6" rod that can handle better than this for maybe double that will be better.

That said this a trunk rod, a fun stow away on a dock. A 2nd rod for creek crawling on a backpack that wont get caught on brush or a 3rd on a kayak to throw when under trees.
