BJ's says it is not energy star certified, with only a CEER of 10.9 - and it is not an inverter model, which is more energy efficient. Midea makes models with CEER of 15 that are inverter models.

Costco has a 12,000 BTU U-Shaped Midea Window AC Unit for just a bit more at $330. You only have to crack the window a few inches which is really nice.

I saw a midea at walmart yesterday with a CEER of 16 which is the highest ever for a window unit. I think the price was $360 ish

Costco has a 12,000 BTU U-Shaped Midea Window AC Unit for just a bit more at $330. You only have to crack the window a few inches which is really nice.

This model was rated the best by Project Farm recently. Very quiet, gets very cold, very energy efficient, and mounts securely to the window without having to open it wide so it keeps a pretty good air seal around it too.

He rated the u-shaped Midea as the best. This is not the same unit. No doubt that it will probably perform just fine, but not the same.

I do have the u-shaped unit cooling my garage in Texas, and I have been incredibly pleased with it. Any window unit that can keep a garage below 80 in the summer in Texas is impressive in my opinion.

This Costco model is MUCH better than the BJs unit, IF you have a membership to make a choice.
