This refurb HP OmniBook 7 Flip 16 stands out as a premium 2 in 1 for the money, with a 16 inch 3K 120 hertz OLED touchscreen, 32 gigabytes of RAM, and a 1 terabyte SSD. The Intel Ultra 7 258V is described as quick for everyday use, with strong battery life and enough graphics muscle for lighter games and some medium settings play. Build quality, speakers, webcam, and the webcam privacy shutter all draw praise, and the unit can arrive looking nearly new. Main caveats are the Micro Center in store only setup, the 90 day warranty, soldered RAM, and reports of a wobbly glossy screen, mushy keyboard, and occasional trackpad inconsistency.

  • The refurb experience can be smooth because Micro Center refurbs reportedly arrive pristine and work without major issues.

  • The deal can be practical because Micro Center allows inspection at pick-up before paying upfront.

    zhamilton05

  • The configuration pairs a 3K 120Hz OLED touchscreen with strong 258V performance for everyday speed and light gaming.

    zhamilton05

  • The laptop can be a good fit for docked use since a refurbished unit reportedly set up well and stays connected to a docking station.

    stillen_i30

  • The refurb may come with missing accessories because at least one unit reportedly arrived without the stylus.

    FantasticSnail1594FantasticSnail1594

  • The warranty coverage can be short because Micro Center reportedly provides only a 90-day warranty window.

    nhamnhiFantasticSnail1594

  • The deal is highly YMMV because Micro Center availability is in-store only and the title does not clearly state that requirement.

    Skap

  • The 2-in-1 hardware can have usability tradeoffs because the trackpad or PAD reportedly does not respond smoothly at times.

Isn't the warranty supposed to start from the date of purchase?
that is what i thought, and thanks for pointing this out, it has 90 day warranty that started May and ends July. the only explanation is this was refurbished, returned, and then refurbished again? it was missing the stylus as well.

i might attempt to reason for open box pricing

but my strongest reason to return is that local llm has to run with OpenVino for intel which is really bad and the model has to be optimized using a now abandoned intel utility. so i consider myself lucky with the ai7 350 for $435 at best buy with 24GB. honestly if i just wanted batterylife ill get a chromebook and just ssh to my desktop with gpu if i really need to run local llm. which itself is not worth the trouble since a $20 tier claude or chatgpt are better.

Costco reduced the same model to $1000. Refurb still a better deal?

Isn't Intel Ultra 3 Series is out now, this is still series 2 I guess that's why it's on sale?

Link? Just checked Costco and do not see this model for 1000
Picked up a refurbished "new" yesterday and set up, seems to be working well. Hp not my primary choice for laptops but this will primarily sit connected to my docking station mainly. Hard to find a machine with 32gb ram and Intel at this price just looking around

The deal ended Sunday 6/7. I grabbed one at my local costco. Still debating costco new for $1000 vs return $700

Pretty sure Costco model has diff processor than this one (255 vs 258?). Minute differences to everyday user and Costco now without as great cust svc on laptops levels playing field for us consumers. Laptops can break new or refurb so I'd go with cheaper model
