This is the mobile version of the rtx5050, not the desktop version. Its rated for 85W max with 8GB vram.

Overall performance comparison:
100% = 5050 (mobile)
150% = 5050 (desktop)
210% = 5060ti (desktop)
Edit: Basing relative performance off of: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-s...bile.c4239

This laptop supports hybrid mode. The RTX 5050 can route its signals through the CPU's integrated graphics (iGPU) to save battery during normal tasks, using standard hybrid mode (NVIDIA Optimus).

During games, it can bypass the slower iGPU and render directly to the display.

Using the native 1920x1200 laptop display:
Its fine for casual gaming like vanilla minecraft or Helldivers II, but for competitive games like CounterStrike 2 or Battlefield, you'll want a better laptop.

It is not meant for 1440p gaming.

Decent price for a basic budget laptop, personally prefer different brands though.

Yes. It'll allow it to play videos on the 16" screen or else nothing would be visible

5050 isn't very good but it will run any games on it at 1080p. The price gap isn't too huge for a 5060 though ..

I hope people aren't falling for that karefox post. The desktop is NOT 50% more than mobile. In many cases a fully powered mobile rtx 5050 out performs the desktop version thanks to the increased memory bandwidth. Not surprisingly his/her math seems to match the often incorrect Ai generated stuff from websites like vs. At a sustained 85watts and a simple frequency graph underclock, the 5050 gets 2900mhz sustained easy under full load.

For those considering, WUXGA is the same as FHD+ resolution, which has 16:10 ratio (contrary to FHD/1080p which is 16:9). FHD+ provides the ideal pixel density for a 16" screen and once you experience 16:10's extra vertical real estate, it'll be a game changer browsing the web or reading any documents. All games support 16:10 as well, which is nice because FHD+/1200p is largely not taxing to contemporary GPU's. QHD/2k or 4k benefits are lost on screens this small.

FYI: this is also called Mux Switching (i.e. switching between iGPU and dGPU vs. routing dGPU output thru an iGPU to the display)
