Only rated for 15 miles on auto (part-time) assist on a flat road. That's a dealbreaker.

This is nicely packaged.... Not sure about the overall quality. Hub motors are ok and you get a good amount of power for much less money than a mid-drive motor. But they have limitations and you have a lot of weight on the wheel. For $900, I think you could do better for something more utilitarian. But if you are looking for a drop-bar bike with a motor, this isn't too bad for $900.

You are paying a premium on this model for it to not look like an ebike. Your money goes further for a fat tire model which will help soak up the bumps with the extra weight from the motor and battery.

I haven't ridden this bike, but somebody at my work has one. It's a nice looking ride, given that it's a sub brand of Giant, I expect it's good quality. This seems like a solid deal, but definitely intended for people that want to bike with a bit of assistance, rather than people who just want to hit the throttle and cruise.

Link didn't work for me - page just closes the moment it tries to open.

Looks decent enough, although I'm far too delicate for anything that isn't equipped with a plush suspension.

Wonder why their website won't let us link to it? (When I tried to post my own link, the same thing happened - click on it, a window opens, and the window immediately closes.)

Edit: Nevermind. Looks like it's on my end - slickdeals does a bunch of redirect nonsense, and my ublock doesn't appreciate it.

Nice deal, just wish it wasn't limited to 20mph. I do faster road rides on my regular bike - avg 20-22mph. But if I wanted to take a day off and take out the e-bike, this wouldn't do.
You are not sustaining 22mph over any meaningful distance unless it's a group ride

When younger I did 30-40 mile road rides on a mountain bike in 2 hours. That's 15-20 mph sustained. 20-22 mph sustained on flat ground is reasonable on a road bike for people in great shape. Amateurs are often training at that level with a tempo ride.
Edit: I usually ignore votes here, but I don't get the down-votes. It's not like those change anything about the fact that some people are maintaining about 22mph while riding a bike.

If you paid full price, I agree.

It's a fantastic bike at $900 if it suits your needs (you don't need to go more than 30 miles round trip per day and not a huge amount of hills, want to ride without pedal assist sometimes)

Why such a big discount? What's the catch? Is it like a fully proprietary bike or does it use standard components?
