This Wolfbox mirror dash cam stands out for front and rear recording in a single mirror-mounted unit, with useful split-screen viewing and solid night clarity for backing up and checking blind spots. The long screen and easy clip retrieval add to its appeal, and the unit has held up for years in daily use. The main tradeoffs are mirror-dashcam quirks, since adjusting the rearview mirror changes the camera angle, and installation can take patience. Backup-camera performance also depends heavily on mounting and setup.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. Because the camera is built into the mirror unit, adjusting the mirror also changes the dash cam POV, so the angle should be rechecked after any mirror movement or driver-position change.
It works best as a close-range aid for backing near obstacles, not as a full replacement for a dedicated backup camera. Proper mounting matters a lot, and the rear camera can be set up with backup-grid mode by wiring it to the reverse light circuit.
It mounts over the existing rearview mirror with rubber straps/silicone brackets and the front lens angle can be adjusted. The unit may need to sit slightly off-center on larger mirrors so the camera has a clear forward view.
The Lite appears to omit the GPS sensor and the included memory card. The standard M40 is the better pick if you want those extras out of the box.
No, the GPS is described as mostly just a compass direction indicator. It does not integrate with mapping apps to provide turn-by-turn routing.

Is the camera in back not adjustable to where you could mount it somewhere else and then just repoint it?

From the wolfbox manual:
Place the head unit (Wolfbox Mirror) on the rear-view mirror
by hand, and be sure to separate the silicone brackets on both
sides of the rearview mirror. Buckle the device to the rearview
mirror with the rubber straps. Adjust the front lens to a desired
angle.
