Community Reviews

This Woot Microsoft 365 Family subscription is mainly attractive as a straightforward way to extend an existing Microsoft account, with the code redeeming on Microsoft's site rather than creating an Amazon managed subscription. The subscription adds time cleanly, and one redemption pushed an account date out to 2029. The value is tied to Microsoft 365 itself, including the apps and 6 terabytes of cloud storage. Checkout can also drop the price with the app or Prime discount, though the listed price and extra 10 percent do not appear consistently for everyone.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The key can be redeemed directly on Microsoft's site to extend an existing subscription, rather than creating a subscription managed by Woot or another retailer. It also appears to work with an already active Family plan.

  • Yes, it can be added to an existing Family subscription and extend the end date. One report shows the account date moving out to 2029 after entering the code.

    ChadWdvorak51slowrey

  • The extra discount appears at checkout and can bring the price down to $76.48 with Prime. The final reduction shows up at the last step before placing the order.

    purfamishedslowrey

  • A Personal code can be switched to Family, but the conversion is not a full 12 months in practice; one example turned into 9 months on a Family subscription. That makes Personal slightly better value, but not dramatically so.

    supersizedkidspiders

  • Microsoft 365 Family includes 6TB of cloud storage in addition to the apps. That makes it more than a one-time software purchase and explains why the subscription can be useful even if you mainly want ongoing storage and services.

Does a MS365 key from Woot work like the ones from Amazon, where the account becomes managed by Amazon? Or are they like the ones from Newegg, where you can just redeem future keys on the MS website?

ATTENTION: Your redemption code will be delivered as tracking number within a few business days.

Perhaps the latter? Below is what is stated in the product description (assuming an existing sub exists):"NOTE: this product can be used to extend an existing subscription."

I'm sorry but any attempt to say that buying a recurring subscription is a slick deal is simply stupid.
Some things can't be reasonably purchased without a subscription. Do you pay for your electricity all in one go, without a monthly connection fee?

This includes 6TB of cloud storage. Is there any place you really trust to buy 6TB of cloud storage at a one-time fee?

I hate SaaS as much as the next guy, but there's more to 365 than just the apps. If you just want the apps, yes, buy the lifetime.

I use the absolute shit out of my Family 365 sub. It's easily the best value I get out of a subscription. If I can get it under retail (pretty frequently) I'd call it slick for sure.

Visual Studio Pro 2022 for $15 is interesting. This software is stupidly expensive when normally priced. But it's also old (2026 has been out for a while now) and the free Community Edition covers most use cases. If you're a medium/large size business, I guess you can't (legally) use Community, but then again I'd think you'd want 2026 at this point and not 2022. Wondering who the market is here.

This is what I'm wondering, too. I currently have a family subscription, bought from Newegg. I don't want to get a subscription to this that would be managed under Amazon.

I've bought this from Woot before and you can just add the key on the Microsoft site to extend your current subscription.

Could someone help me out with the 10% off? I'm not seeing that or how to claim it. I'm in the Woot app, is it a Prime-only discount?

It should come off at the last step when you see the Place order button even without Prime.

I currently have a premium family membership. Can I apply this so I will continue a non premium membership after the premium runs out?

Did you find an ISP that lets you pay once too?
